I just got a laptop with a DVD-R burner. Is it possible to burn a Divx file to a DVD and watch it on a DVD player that plays DVD-R format discs? Thanks...once again.

You have to convert it to MPEG-2 format first.

Hey Dru -
First of all did you get that Dante Hall clip, if not throw me a smoke? Also if it is not too much trouble could you put up the games and or highlights to the 2003 season. It would be nice to add those to the collection. ![]()

In order to view this video in your standard DVD player you've got 2 options. One is to go ahead and convert it to MPEG-2 as was mentioned. This involves a lot of different software and LOTS of reading to learn how to do it...correctly. Even if you're a pro and you do it perfectly you're gonna lose some quality because it has to be compressed again.
The second option is to simply get a DVD player that is Divx certified. They're are plenty of them available for just as cheap as normal ones and then you'd never have to worry about. My advice would be to sell your current DVD and get one that's Divx certified. Then you just pop it in and you're good to go. That would also go with all my other clips I've been distributing...as well as ANY divx content. Enjoy! |
