Any Total Annihilation players?

My cousin introduced me to this game a few years ago, and usually I hate real-time strategy games, but I decided to give it a go the last couple days and he's got me hooked.

Of course, he's also waxing my ass pretty good since I have almost no experience. Any pointers/strategies?

We're playing the original game updated to version 3.1 with the added Core Contingency, Battle Tactics, 1500 unit, and Absolute Annihilation patches...bringing the version to 5.4.

I think it's about 3 or 4 years old. I like the complexity, you can have dozens of things going on at any given time but the interface is great so you can jump from one thing to another with ease. Liberate a "trial" copy from bittorrent, it's worth it.
