Depressed about a coaching change?

I was pretty sad to see Vermeil retire, and think "bust up" that will occur to this team.

But I got to thinking, Tampa fired Dungy after he couldn't get it done, and Gruden came in and smoked the Raiders in the SB. Could it be that whoever our new coach is could do the same thing? (Well, our new coach will smoke the Raiders, that's for sure, but the SB thing is what I'm talking about)

Probably not any kind of an original thought, but made me feel better about next year none the less.

Maybe depressed is too harsh a word. Maybe sad, sad that the new coach would come in and ruin such a perfect offense, in the name of a rotten defense or something.

The difference is, Gruden is a good coach. I don't think Chiefs fans will ever be that excited over it because we are definitely going to hire someone with a lot of question marks.

Couldn't get it done, referring to SB
and
Couldn't get it done, referring to making playoffs

two different concepts.

Yeah, but either way not the result anyone wants, especially around here.

Seriously though, could it be possible that changing the coach could bring that type of result here next year? Unlikely, yes, impossible?

With a defensive minded HC and solid OC we SHOULD be in the playoffs...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

The only way I see that happing is IF we get a young, up and coming coach with alot of tenacity and who isn't afraid to hold players accountable.

I haven't been this excited about the team since Vermeil was hired.
