Need a little help too...

OK, this has been happening ever since we moved to this place. Here's the situation:

I have a laptop connected to a router (we have 4 computers here) and I'd say about 80% of the time the internet stops working (Firefox and IE) after the laptop stays on for a while. The only way to get it to work again is to restart the comp, sometimes it takes a few tries. Once it stays on for a while the connection is lost again. It never cuts out during a session, only when I exit the browsers and the computer isn't used.

I'm the only one in this place who has this issue, my set up consists of a crappy laptop running XP Home with ZoneAlarm in the background.

Any suggestions? Help would be greatly appreciated as restarting this POS every time gets pretty old.

P.S. It's connected with an ethernet cable, not WiFi.

I had, what souds like the same problem with my connection after I added a wireless router. My desktop connection (wired) would randomly stop working after being on for a while.

Turned out that zonealarm was causing some kind of problem. When my connection would crap out, I could shut down zonealarm and it would start working again without a reboot. I have no idea how it caused the problem but when I ditched zonealarm it went away completly.

Sweet, thanks a lot. I'll try it out for sure, one of my roomies has a wireless connection too.
