Of course he is. He realizes that every now and then he will need a breather. If only for one or two plays a half. Plus he has to say that.

No, I'm sure he'd much rather carry the ball 700 times this year.

If I'm LJ, I'd want Priest back too. If nothing else, look at the crap he took from Whitlock and people about having to come out on passing plays. There's no way a team can think "LJ's out, they must be throwing" if Priest is in there.

And you guys aren't thinking outside the box.... sure, LJ needs (and wants) a BACKUP; he doesn't want the Kansas City icon and man who can do no wrong. |

Holmes would be a great 3rd down back. He could pass protect and still be a great threat out of the backfield.
Of course LJ wants him back, it makes KC better. On a side note, I think we should sign TO and tell LJ that TO's the main target. You know, give LJ something to play 'mad' about. LJ+'mad'= bruised Raider and Bronco shoulders. |

Having Priest here for relief and as a backup would be **cking great. I would like to think that LJ knows that too.

It's hardly fair to blame LJ for the lack of running without him; blame the F.O. for not assembling a capable backup and the coaches for NEVER calling Brown's number. |

Unsubstantiated rumor here:
I have it third hand at this point that an acquaintance spoke with Priest here in Austin last Friday night. Priest was in a wheelchair due to the rehab but said he plans to be back next year and looks forward to leading the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. Now remember, this is third hand and also the "correct" response to a fan. |

I get the feeling that if Priest comes back, it WON'T "just" be that. |
