Kind of a cool story
Some of you may remember a semi-pro team in St. Joe a few years back called the Cardinals (later replaced by the Saints). The players were just college guys here for the summer, so the team would always ask for host families. My family would always host 2 or 3 guys, which was pretty cool for a little kid such as myself.
When I was about 13 or 14 we had a player named Brandon Duckworth. At the time he played for Southern Idaho. He went on to play for Fullerton later in his college career. Of all the players we had, "Ducky" was the one who I bonded with the most, he would always take me wherever he went whether it be the mall or sometimes even some parties my mom would have freaked out about I will always remember when he left I was out of town and he left me his Cardinals hat that he wore all season along with a Southern Idaho cap that he had bought for me. My dad and I followed his career and eventually he made his way to the bigs, pitching for Philly, Houston and most recently the Pirates. I even got to see him throw once when I was in Atlanta. Anyway, the reason I am posting this here is because Duckworth was just picked up by the Royals and he has already been plugged into the rotation for tomorrow night. http://kansascity.royals.mlb.com/NAS...t=.jsp&c_id=kc It's funny how things work out sometimes. I'm going to have to go see more games than I had thought this year. |

Very cool. I hope he does well.

I hope he does well, he was once considered a top prospect by the phillies but has always had control problems.

Do you think he'll recognize you? You should have a good shot of getting his attention considering you will probably consist of 1/5 of the crowd tomorrow night.

My inserting crew will never forget the Cardinals as I once sold the team on the idea of having tickets inserted into our publication.

You inserted baseball tickets into your publication? Wouldn't somebody just steal all of them and scalp the tickets?

Glad to see Moore is looking for talent around the league for the rotation. We've got nothing to lose the rest of the year trying out some veteran guys who have shown a little promise in the past.
