Van Halen/DL Roth reunion???

This could make a killing if true....

http://www.fmqb.com/article.asp?id=339712

"Hummala bebhuhla zeebuhla
boobuhla hummala bebhuhla
zeebuhla bop!"

It's one of the oft-heard questions in the Rock world: Can Van Halen co-exist again with David Lee Roth? It appears that they might give it a try once again, as multiple sources are reporting a major summer tour is in the works. This would be the first time Roth would tour as a member of the band since 1984.

According to Rolling Stone, Roth and the band got back together last month to rehearse 14 songs at Eddie Van Halen's home studio in Hollywood. “They totally got along on a personal level,” a source told the magazine. “And it sounded great."

"Everything is up in the air,” Eddie Van Halen told Rolling Stone. “We don’t want to say anything prematurely.” He also hinted that the rest of the band was waiting for Diamond Dave. “People know where we are and that we’re making music. Whoever wants to come up can join us — they’re welcome.” The magazine's anonymous source added that “Dave is ready. He’s been ready.”

Billboard adds that a contract between the band and Live Nation could be signed any minute now, locking in a 40-date summer tour of amphitheaters with Roth on board. Van Halen's last tour was in 2004 with Sammy Hagar singing, but Hagar and Eddie Van Halen have apparently had their differences.

The entire reunion adds to the curiosity about what could happen in March when the band is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Both Hagar and Roth are being inducted as members of the band (though Gary Cherone was omitted). The current lineup of Van Halen also reportedly includes Eddie's teenage son Wolfgang on bass, replacing Michael Anthony.

No surprise there. He didn't do squat with them. The one album he sang on pretty much sucked. If he ever gets into the HoF, it should be with Extreme, an excellent band in their own right.

This is the one thing that disappoints me about the reunion. While I'm eager to see what they sound like with Wolfie, I would have really loved to see a reunion with the original four. On the other hand, with Wolfie, the band is now 3/4 Van Halens.

I'm a sucker....I'll bite...

But a little voice in the back of my head keeps telling me this is like purchasing a Tyson pay-per-view fight....

Risky at best.

Is there a term "dual post?" Both of them at 10:29, that is a tie.

I'm excited about the reunion but its unfortunate that Michael Anthony is not on board with this.

Did you hear DLR's bluegrassy version of some van halen songs, jump and jamie's crying?

He played a sound bite on his show last year, the portion he played actually almost sounded promising.

I downloaded it, and yeah it was a big dissapointment. It just didn't click, like if you heard Gochiefs and Carmen Electra were going to get it on, part of you will just want to vomit.

Van Halen had their run and hopefully made their bucks. They need to go away now before they sully their past rep any further.

I agree. Much like the Chiefs, their window of opportunity has closed.
