GBN's last mock

GBN's last mock

Chiefs picks:

1. Tye Hill, CB
2. Darryl Tapp, DE
3. Hank Baskett, WR

I love the first two picks, Baskett not so much. They actually have DT Rod Wright going a few picks after Baskett in the 3rd. If we added Rod Wright to the first two picks above, I'll be walking on clouds for a week.

I like Baskett. Reminds me of Keyshawn. Baskett loves to block and he's a big target.

yuck.

I really can't see KC taking Tye Hill, he isn't a good fit for the scheme Herm wants to run.

Baskett would be okay, I like his size.

I'd be elated with the first two picks, but if they were to take a DT in the third as you suggested, I'd rather they pick up Babatunde Oshinowo
from Stanford. I wouldn't be disappointed with Baskett though, but Kellen Clemmens QB would be a steal at the third round too- but, we know Carl won't be doing something as smart as that.

Hey guys real quick, I am just wanting to know - what is it about Tye hill that doesn't fit with KC? I am way out of the loop on the players this year

Okay, so he's short - I get that, but is he not very active when going for the ball as well?

Herm Edwards has a Cover 2 background and will probably want to start acquiring players that fit in that scheme. The Cover 2 uses bigger CBs, so Hill would not be a good fit at all for that scheme.

He's a great open field tackler- ahem- something we really need.

***** all the measureables- the guy is a player! He makes tackles, he defends the pass well, and he has great speed to blitz. The Chiefs would score a solid CB should they draft him.

I hate it!

Tye Hill probably will be a fine player, but not with Herm as our head coach.
Tapp just doesn't project to the pros for me, very slow, undersized, short, can't fit as a DE, can't fit as a LB, so WTF ya gonna do with that?
Never heard of Baskett, so have to defer opinion on that pick.

EDIT: Nice Bio, anyone know anymore about that back injury?

NFLDraftCountdown

Hank Baskett | New Mexico | Wide Receiver | Senior
Height: 6-2 7/8 | Weight: 224 | 40-Time: 4.49

Official Bio

Strengths:
Has tremendous size...Very physical and knows how to use his big frame...Is an excellent natural athlete...Has great hands...Will routinely make the spectacular reception...Great leaper who was the 2004 Mountain West Conference outdoor high jump champion...Can be a major threat in the red zone...Has excellent body control...Runs well after the catch...Plays faster on the field than he times.

Weaknesses:
Does not have elite speed or quickness...Is not much of a deep threat and won't run away from pro defensive backs...Needs to round out his game and refine his technique...Is not as good of a blocker as a guy his size should be...Has some trouble beating the jam at the line...Can run better routes...Missed some time as a freshman with a spinal injury that will need to be checked out by the doctors.

Notes:
Doesn't get the attention he deserves as one of the premier senior wideouts in the nation...Has everything you look for except pure speed and is a bit of a big school sleeper...Could potentially be a #1 receiving target at the next level.
