I live near Tulsa and I much prefer it to OKC. It is easy to get around in because whoever named the streets was a genious. Starting with Main street a street with the name of a western city indicates you are west of main. And they are in alphabetical order as well. Going west it is Boulder, Cheyenne, Denver, etc. Going east it is Boston, Cncinnati, Detroit, etc. Also, Tulsa is barely 100 years old so you don't see many old dilapidated buildings. OKC and Tulsa are almost exactly the same population. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

I've been to both places and with kids... I would prefer Tulsa. It just looks cleaner to me with as much or more things to do.

Thanks, Skip. As a fellow Jayhawk, are you able to get the hoops games during the season?
Also, what parts of Tulsa are preferable to live? Thanks. |

I would imagine you have a better chance of seeing Chiefs games on local broadcast TV in Tulsa.
Tulsa is a more "artsy fartsy" (like KC) where OKC is more of a cowtown. They both have their qualities. My choice would be Tulsa

I'd take Tulsa over Oak City, the only neg I can think of for Tulsa is skippy lives too near by, but that can't go on for much longer

I lived in KC in '65 and '66. One day I left KC and it was snowing. I picked up my mom in Coffeyville and took her shopping in Tulsa. There were magnolia trees in bloom there. There is a noticeable climate difference between Tulsa and KC.
