No Compensary Picks For Chiefs?

PLAYERS LOST

• LB Kendrell Bell (released).

• OG Chris Bober (released).

• TE Jason Dunn (released).

• LB Keyaron Fox: UFA Steelers; $645,000/1 yr, $40,000 SB.

• FB Boomer Grigsby: Not tendered as RFA/Dolphins; 1 yr, terms unknown.

• WR Eddie Kennison (released).

• CB Ty Law (released).

• DT James Reed (released).

• CB Benny Sapp: UFA Vikings; $705,000/1 yr, $100,000 SB.

• OG John Welbourn (released).

• C Casey Wiegmann: UFA Broncos; 2 yrs, terms unknown.

• FB/TE Kris Wilson: UFA Eagles; 3 yrs, terms unknown.

How the hell does this = no compensary draft picks? By my estimation we lost around 5-6 starters! Anyone know how they decide who gets what?

The compensatory picks are for last years Free Agency.

And we don't get jack if we cut people.

EDIT: It's also determined on how big the player's contract is and how many games they started. Also if we signed anybody else.

Compensatory picks are based on FA's lost/signed LAST year.

We lost Kawika Mitchell and Jordan Black.

We signed Napoleon Harris, Donnie Edwards, Alphonso Boone, JS Darche, etc.

You have to lose more than you sign, and what you lose has to be of some value as well.

Even if we get anything next year, it won't be much.

Only the F/A losses will yield picks and those will be in 2009

I'm glad you guys nipped this in the bud early...

Comp picks for releasing players? I don't doubt that Carl has suggested this at the owners meetings...

The Carl & Herm show are working hard at becoming the league laughing stocks. First the "let's expand the playoffs so we can get in" proposal and now the Follicle Follies.

You know, I hear plutonium is so shiny it glows. Why doesn't Bowlen want his players to have nice things?

Carl is a joke, but blame Lamar Hunt for that expanded playoff idea.
