Don't repeat the Gannon mistake, Herm!

Ok, I will go out on the limb now and call Thiggy our QBOTF. Until he proves himself not worthy, I cannot see how you do not go with him? I thought Whitlock was hard on him this week. Yes, he didn't have his greatest game Yes, he looked like a rookie. Yes, he is still giving this team the best QB play they have had since Trent Green was in his rythm. If we get a decent line in front of him, I think this kid has what it takes. He makes the right reads and is not afraid of taking chances. Now it's just a matter of growing into the shoes of the starter. We have not lost games because if our QB play, that is for sure. Thiggy has managed to get us the lead in just about everyone of his games he has played.

Now, don't pull a Grbac and bench the kid next year. We got our QB the way we got him. I think the football Gods finally showed pitty on us Chiefs fans and gave Thiggy his opportunity. If we continue to build the line, Thiggy, Bowe and Bradley can be 3 names called a lot over the next few years.

i don't mind still looking for a possible QBOTF this offseason, but I would say that the ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT that we take a 1st round QB is definitely off the table.

thigpen has shown a lot in the past 4 weeks and if he keeps getting better, i'm thinking we got really lucky that minnesota tried to sneak this guy onto their practice squad.

I don't think you really need to worry about it. The Chiefs will stick with him because he's pretty good and the big bonus is he's cheap.

I agree. Thiggy is the QBotF. But, we must see how he does for the rest of this season. If he plays the same or better, he's our #1 for '09. But, we would still need to draft a QB in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th round of the draft. Also, I'd like to see us drop Huard and pick up a veteran QB. I'd have Thiggy as the #1, the vet QB as #2 and the rookie QB as #3.

If Thiggy starts to crack and play poorly, we must draft a QB in the 1st round. We can keep Thiggy and develp him. We still need to pick ua a veteran QB.

His accuracy blows. I don't know why anyone thinks he's taking us to the Super Bowl.

If we have a chance to draft Stafford we do not pass because of Tyler ****ing Thigpen.

IF Thigpen continues to perform like he has in the past 4 games, the Chiefs should take a QB in the 5th-7th round and NO higher.

With serious needs at MLB, OLB, DE, RG, RT, CB and depth needed everywhere, the Chiefs have NO business spending a 1st-3rd round pick on a QB.

Yeah, that pass that Bradley dropped hit him right in the chest. Terrible accuracy. And that bomb he it Bradlely on for 30+ yards in full stride,...or the streaker he slung in the back of the endzone that only Bradley could catch, for the TD......I mean our YAC is probably the highest it has been in years with Thiggy.....yes, his accuracy blows!

I know Thigpen is pretty good, because Claythan doesn't like him. He's wrong virtually every time.

Hypothetically, what would Thigpen have to do to prove he is the QBOTF to you?

Better accuracy? Huge second half? Not spend 80% of the snaps in shotgun? Win a game or two? Make mistakes early but bounce back and win? All of the above?

I'm not settled on Thigpen as the answer, but what would it take just out of curiosity?

At times he is accurate. Other times he is so off the mark it is sickening. He's never going to be a consistently accurate quarterback. He's not good enough. I don't want any part of him as a starter.

Name one pass he's made that made you stand up and shout HOLY SHIT WHAT A THROW. Just one. Brodie Croyle made one last year in Indianapolis, to Bowe for a TD. So far Thigpen hasn't made anything remotely close to that throw. He does well dumping the ball off short and occasionally hits a wide open guy down the field. That's not franchise-level quarterback play, sorry.

You guys are so starved for a good quarterback you're willing to stand pat with the first bum who throws for 200 yards a few times in a row. I'm not.

And please stop the ridiculous comparisons to Rich Gannon. Just because Thigpen can move around does not mean he is Rich Gannon. So far he hasn't shown a fraction of the ability to improvise that Gannon did.

Gannon was also out of football for a year after playing for 3 years.

You act as if Thigpen hasn't been averaging a QB rating over 90 the past month or that his TD-INT ratio is awful.

Far from it.

I'd take Thigpen over Quinn right now. Did you see his bad decision making last night? He almost cost the Browns the game and they won in spite of him.

If you can't see that Thigpen's a high quality QB, then you're a ****ing idiot.

Who gives a shit what he thinks?

You know, I never understood the GoChiefs bashing that's occurred all these years.

Now I get it.
