As a society, we've got to stop forwarding hoax Emails!!
I and 20 other people recieved this email from someone that we all know:
Hello All, I thought you might be interested in a free computer for your child or yourself. The Ericsson Company is distributing free computer laptops in an attempt to match Nokia that has already done so. Ericcsson hopes to increase its popularity this way. For this reason, they are giving away the new WAP LAPTOPS. All you need to qualify is to send this e-mail to 8 people you know, within 2 weeks, you will receive Ericsson T18. But if you can send it to 20 people or more, you will receive Ericsson R320. There are people in our building who have received their laptops. Make sure to send a copy (cc) to: anna.swelung@ericsson.com Thank You, LeChelle Irizarry Utilization Assistant Susan Brion Strategic Sourcing phone - 785-575-8141 fax - 785-575-8137 So, I sent this "reply all" to everyone: ADVICE TO ALL............ The funny thing is, the number for Susan Brion at the bottom of the email is a real number. She really answers the phone. I'll bet she's sick of getting calls about this! :-) We've probably all fallen for this type of email at least once in our lives. But, it's time to NOT fall for them any more............. The Ericsson 320 is a cell phone that was developed almost 10 years ago, not a computer. Companies don't give expensive things away for free........ EVER! Before believing emails like this and forwarding them, do some research first and save yourself some trouble. I've never seen an email from a complete stranger that instructed me to forward it to other people, that I can remember, that was not a hoax. Read this: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/nothing/ericsson.asp Don't forward things like this. Emails like this could contain a virus. Or, the original creator of the email could be collecting email addresses, with your help, for free, so he can send out even more junk mail to your friends. In this case, it's just a hoax. There's no virus. But, to be safe, I wouldn't even open things like this. Just delete them and run your anti-virus software every week. -- John Wayne ( I used my real name) First Sargeant Internet Police Hoax Email Division I tried to be truthful and stern, while being a little forgiving and funny. Was I a jerk? Did I cross the line? I'm really sick of these kinds of emails. The original creators need to be found and.........well.......NUTHOOKS! The people who forward these emails need to be admonished as well. This crap has got to stop! |

I never understand this. Anytime I see an email that is "questionable" (to say the least), I Snopes it and if it's a fraud, I reply all and say so, to try to cut down on the stupidity of forwarding around these obviously idiotic emails.
I honestly don't get how anyone could think they're real, and they're certainly not funny, so why do they seem to live forever?

i found one that was like "stupid lawsuits that win" the coffee one was in and other ones that were not true. It irks me to no end, but this world is filled with stupid people, some of them are smart, I just seem to catch them on stupid days.

Yeah, exactly! And I'm instructed to send it back to the person who sent it to me. If I don't, they wont' get the free $1000 gift card to Red Lobster! Do they think Red Lobster is monitoring our emails? How in the hell would Red Lobster know that they sent the email to 20 people and how would Red Lobster know that each of those 20 people responded with "I love Red Lobster" in the subject line? These are the same people who hate Big Brother, but are OK with companies like Red Lobster supposedly monitoring their emails as long as they get their free $1000 gift card. It just makes no sense at all !
