My Pre-Combine Chiefs' Mock

1. Eric Berry, S, Tenn
2A: Terrence Cody, NT, Alabama
2B: Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida
3. Eric Norwood, OLB, South Carolina
4. Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech
5A: Eric Olsen, C, Notre Dame
5B: Ben Tate, RB, Auburn
5C: Kyle Calloway, OT, Iowa

Used Walter Football's latest mock and selected guys who are still on board when we picked.

FWIW, I think Demaryius Thomas will be the first or second best WR in this draft, and would have no problems using our first 2nd rounder on him.

Would also like to move back into the fourth/fifth (Page, Waters) to pick up another linebacker like Roddrick Muckelroy, AJ Edds, Darryl Sharpton

Very nice. But I think Walter is wrong when he has Thomas going sometime in the 4th round. That's nutz. Thomas has 2nd round talent but will go in the early 3rd at worst IMO. A team will fall in love with him, plus he showed up at the combine with 10 1/2 inch hands! Thats huuge.

I really like that draft Doomy. It may be the best one I've seen on here.

Substitute Ben Tate for TE Tony Moeaki and I'd consider this a very excellent draft.

Whats wrong with Ben Tate? That would be a very nice pick for where he has him going.

Actually I would like to swap Calloway with Sam Young, and keep Young at RT. I'm sure Weis would enjoy that.

That was a coin flip deal for me. It was honestly between Calloway and Sam Young for that pick. Calloway is a little more agile, which I think Pioli and Haley value.

Think Spikes is a reach @ 2B and that Tate, Olsen, and Thomas are all gone by those picks.

Yeah, no. I'm an Iowa fan myself, but I find myself asking "Why would you want Tony Moeaki?". What has he ever done to make you think he'd be a good pro? Never understood this.

The announcers during games would always compare him to Tony Gonzalez. He's nowhere near that, and he's not even the top 10 rated TE this year.

Ferentz said he is the best TE he's ever coached. Dallas Clark he ain't.

Don't get me wrong, he has potential, and occasionally makes a big play, but he also drops the ball more than you'd like for a TE. Not to mention the fact that he is ALWAYS injured.

I'll take Tate.

Calloway is better than Young. This is good value. I question if he'll be there though.

Excellent mock.
Couldn't ask for a better first 4 rounds.
