Getting it out of my system: DraftPlanet
A few years ago I went a couple rounds with a couple of the mods around here about DraftPlanet. I believe the way this forum stashes away the draft forum is unfair to people who love the draft and love scouting for the draft year-round like myself. Instead it gets tucked away for reasons I still don't understand 10 months out of the year, and then buried again shortly thereafter. DaFace and I have discussed the issue the most, he of course being in favor of prefixes.

As an insignificant piece of civil disobedience, I've been deliberately misusing prefixes as a result. And I honestly thought nobody gave a shit until it was hinted in another thread by another mod that this Direckshun guy might need to lose his thread-starting privileges as punishment.

Okay, so let me get this off my chest, so we can let the issue die a dignified death:

Why do we post on a Chiefs board? Rather than just a broader football forum dedicated to the entire NFL with no particular bias for any one team?

Because NFL forums suck. It is more fun to talk about football with other Chiefs fans. Period. Not only are we going to have more in common with each other as Chiefs fans, Chiefs fans are also a shit-ton more fun to talk to in general. Talking to a Giants fan or a Seahawks fan is weak sauce by comparison. And this forum is the best of the best, IMO.

And this board had a crucial opportunity a few years ago to stimulate year-round discussion about the draft, during the Herm years. To promote a genuinely interesting forum just as much as shitty forums like DC and Pictures.

Not just a forum to talk about the draft. We can do that on about a thousand other boards across the internet. But to talk about the draft with Chiefs fans? ChiefsPlanets is pretty much the only place fruitful discussions can get going on that front without a heavy dosage of homerism or Big 12ism. But we've stashed the forum in the shadows and it's ****ing brutally quiet there as a result. During college football season.

I just think there's no reason for it, especially when you've added the feature where you can hide the forums at the top that you don't want to see.

Bring back DraftPlanet.

So that's my piece. I'll shut up about the subject now.
