MY theory about a TV show be patience
The professor on Gilligan Island why couldn't he fix the boat. Well they said he wanted to study plants. Well what if instead he decided to do a social experiment? You see he made all these other gadget and stuff for the castaways. Yet couldn't fix the boat. I think he did knew but he wanted to study the people for a study so when they did get back he would be rich from his study on the castaways. Also why didn't Gilligan fight back i think the truth is he was drugged down by the professor to not ruin his experiment no one is that stupid. Also the howells and the ladies were lead to believe in the fact he couldn't fix the boat to help him not be pressured by the skipper.

I believe your right, big kcnut! That professor was one smart dude. I think he also brought along a stowaway dressed in a gorilla suit just so the castaways would have an animal antagonist to deal with.

The island is a direct representation of HELL. Nobody on the island wants to be there, yet none are able to leave. Each one of the characters represents one of the 7 deadly sins:

Ginger represents LUST - she wears skimpy outfits, is obsessed with her looks, and is a borderline nymphomaniac.

Mary Ann represents ENVY - she is jealous of Ginger's beauty.

The Professor represents PRIDE - he is an annoying know-it-all.

Mr. Howell represents GREED - no explanation needed.

Mrs. Howell represents SLOTH - she has never lifted a finger to help on any of their escape plans.

The Skipper represents two sins: GLUTTONY - no explanation needed; and ANGER - he violently hits Gilligan on each show.

This leaves Gilligan. Gilligan is the person who put them there. He prevents them from leaving by foiling all of their escape plots. Also, it is HIS Island.

Therefore, Gilligan is SATAN.

Very good- except Gilligan in fact represents ANGER. He just creates it in others rather than personifying it himself.

I asked this of Sherwood Schwartz at a Gilligan's Island symposium & he basically said that this was a true depiction of his hell.
