Anyone here ever adopted before?
Getting ready to meet with an agency tomorrow for the first time to get the skinny on the process. Anyone been down this road before and can relate any advice on the process itself? Positive or negative experiences?

Excited but super freaked out.

I adopted a stretch of highway. Turned 3 small lanes into 2 super wide lanes for a comfort cruise baby!

My sister just adopted a baby. Be prepared for a long process, especially if you're looking for a baby as opposed to a slightly older child.

Also, there's a lot of emotional roller coaster moments. I know that my sister has no regrets however.

We have close family friends that tried to do this. IIRC the process took over a year, they had everything set, name picked out baby room done, EVERYTHING. They had her for 3 days when the biological mother decided she wanted her back. They've never been the same since. I hope everything works out for you, it takes a special type of person that can do something like this.

This is something that scares me to death. I am pushing for an international adoption just to not have to worry about something like this.
