Chris Bonner is like 6'7".... I'd rather take an UDFA flier on Austin Sumner out of SDSU though.

Brandon Bridge, 6'5", 235 lb.; South Alabama

Small school player originally out of Canada who is raw, but has all the intangibles such as an absolute cannon for an arm and break away, open field speed. Supposedly smart with a good work ethic. He is moving up on a lot of boards. Fifth rounder right now and will likely be higher after his pro day.

Quote:
STRENGTHS: Tall, narrow body type with athletic footwork and long-striding speed to pick up yards with his legs. Elite-level arm strength and release quickness with the ability to add velocity and extra RPM's on his throws with ease. Not shy about testing tight windows and trusts his arm to make frozen rope throws and put the ball anywhere he wants on the field.
He has mobility to keep the play alive when the pocket breaks down, shaking off arm tackles and stepping up with his eyes downfield. Shows the ability to work through his reads and is a quick thinker to make snap decisions. Displayed outstanding toughness playing through an ankle injury most of November 2014.

WEAKNESSES: Bridge has improved field vision, but needs to develop his eye use and tends to stare down receivers, often leading defenders to his intended target. His receivers will struggle to handle his fastball at times and Bridge needs to develop a change-up and overall better touch to all levels. His mechanics and accuracy need refined, but neither needs an overhaul.

With only a dozen collegiate games under his belt, Bridge doesn't have the ideal experience and might need a season or two to develop before he's ready for consistent game reps, requiring a patient NFL team.

COMPARES TO: Colin Kaepernick, 49ers -- Bridge is tall and lean with a rocket launcher on his right shoulder like the 49ers quarterback and has more than enough velocity on his passes to toss ropes to all levels of the field.
Quote:
South Alabama quarterback Brandon Bridge might be short on name recognition compared to college quarterbacks like Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston, but that doesn't mean NFL scouts haven't found him.

In fact, they've flocked to see the strong-armed Canadian, according to his coach.

"His fundamentals at throwing the football just go through the roof. He's made a lot of improvement as a quarterback. He has a great arm and he can also win with his legs ... I think we've had 25 (scouts from NFL teams) come back to see him," said South Alabama coach Joey Jones, according to The Toronto Star. "The word's out right now. The more experience he gets, the better he's going to be. There's a lot of potential down the road for him."

South Alabama faces just two teams from a Power Five conference this season, which makes his evaluation as a pro prospect a bit more tricky. Mississippi State beat South Alabama, 35-3, earlier this year, and the Bulldogs are the only South Alabama opponent to keep Bridge from throwing a touchdown pass this season. He'll get a chance to show more against a Power Five team on Nov. 22, when the Jaguars travel to South Carolina.

Still, Bridge has been known to hold his own against the toughest quarterback competition in the nation. He finished second in the Manning Passing Academy Air-It-Out Challenge, behind Oregon State's Sean Mannion, in July. To do so, he beat out the likes of Oregon's Mariota, Baylor's Bryce Petty and USC's Cody Kessler in the event's annual accuracy contest.

How about an easy 75 yards in the air?:

I like Mannion for this offense a ton. He's got a lot of similarities to Flacco, but I think he's more polished with better accuracy.

Good find there, Sac.

I continue to think we've got the closest thing to Flacco already on our roster in Bray.

That's not saying much, but this QB class is just that bad.

I'm not that high on Bray to this day.

I disagree about the QB class being bad. There are 2 legitimate day 1 picks and a bunch of good looking developmental/backup players. This is a better QB draft than we've seen the past couple of seasons in my opinion. I thought the guys that went in round 1 last season were really overrated except for Bridgewater. I will say that Carr has shown some flashes of becoming pretty good. I think you can make the case that both Winston and Mariota look better than the prospects last year. This year's class makes 2013 look like the dog shit it was.

I think Petty, Grayson, Carden, Bridge, Mannion and even Hundley show solid potential. Of that group, the only one I'd say doesn't show more potential than Bray is Hundley who I have on the fence right now. I really like the other 5 and would be all for KC drafting any one of them.

Pretty much. Very top heavy with two potential superstars and then a bunch of JAGs.
