what I think Dorsey will do

1.) TJ Clemmings (OT) Athletic with huge potential and will start at ROT - oline is now set with the FA offseason pickups.

2.) Eric Rowe (CB) has length/speed and cover skills to match and another upside guy who should play in nickel right away and be Smith's replacement next year if we cant resign him long term.

3.) Henry Anderson (DE) has the motor and he can anchor the edge and get pressure on the qb

3a.) Devin Funchess (WR) huge target for Alex and a redzone threat - a bigger and Dorsey thinks a better version than Bowe

4.) Davis Tull (LB) Dorsey will fall all over himself looking at this kids combine numbers

5.) Max Garcia (C) need competition for the spot in case Kush doest fit the bill

5a.) Jake Ryan (LB) just a tackle machine and a huge need

6.) Cleyton Geathers (SS) a leader and instant nickel help

6a.) Vince Mayle (WR) dude has the size/speed but drops too many balls so falls this far down the draft.

Thats as far as I go with this and may be way off but Dorsey likes him some future upside and most of those guys have that and should fall around those slots.

I would bet he wants to trade down to the mid 20's where he can still possibly draft Clemmings and pick up a additional late 2nd or 3rd.

Solid but I'm not sure Rowe will be there at that spot; same with Funchess at the end of 3.

probably right as Rowe is getting a lot of hype and seems to be flying up numerous mock drafts but he is a perfect fit for what Dorsey likes in a CB.

I hope potential meets expectations with whoever Dorsey picks this year as that's his MO IMO and it would be nice to get significant contributions out of the top 4 picks this year!

I would take that, happily. Not a big Fun chess fan, but that late, I'd be ok with it. I like Mayle And Ryan as later picks.

Ryan and Mayle would be solid picks right there.

I like Mayle a ton. I think he's got some really serious potential. Comes out of his breaks hard and runs really good routes. High points very well and has a second gear in the open. I think he's being seriously undervalued in this draft and will be a steal if he goes where everyone is projecting him to go, which is probably based on his combine 40 time where he ran with a broken finger and had to switch his launch hand from right to left that probably cost him a few tenths.

Ryan is a little stiff, but he's a really good linebacker. Would be a nice get for a team that needs quality depth that could potentially turn into a starter.

I would be seriously tempted in this draft scenario to move Tull inside. His short arms are going to work against him in a 34 on the edge, but his insane freak-like explosion numbers and relatively decent agility would really benefit him inside in Sutton's system. A bit of a project in terms of bringing him along coverage/read defense wise (where other physical freaks like Willis and Kuechly played MLB at the college level versus Tull, who was basically forced to play on the edge at the FBS level due to his incredible athletic gifts). There are very, very few guys who actually end up being good pass rushers with 31" arms. But he's got potential to be an absolute freaking beast inside.

Tull:
6'2"
246 lb.
40: 4.57
Vertical: 42.5"
Broad: 132"

The moves this offseason suggest to me that Dorsey feels that this team is just a couple of pieces away from competing.

I expect this draft to reflect that, which means he will not be looking for players in the early rounds to replace expiring contracts.

He will be looking for players in the first couple of picks that he thinks can contribute this year.

Those players will come in one of three position groups, WR, ILB and O-Line.

Yep. I'd add DB as well as he can't be sold on the talent level or depth at CB.

I would add corner to that list with Smith's contract expiring after this season.

That's is 4th on the list of needs, IMO, so I eliminated that as a potential pick based on what I expect.

I said I expect he will not be drafting to replace expiring contracts, so no, not to my list.

My migraine this morning has apparently affected my reading comprehension. My bad.

However, a corner in the first three rounds wouldn't shock me at all.

I appreciate the effort, but if we take Clemmings I'll go ape shit. We can do better.

Sean Smith is going to have a multi-game suspension to start the season, and our first games are a ****ing nightmare. I think CB has real value for THIS season as well as the future.
