Has there ever been a more active NFL trade deadline??
In the weeks and days leading up to the deadline, we've seen:

Adrian Peterson traded to the Cardinals
Jimmy Garoppolo traded to the 49ers
Duane Brown traded to the Seahawks (for picks and Jeremy Lane, who's a recognizable name himself)
Jay Ajayi traded to the Eagles

I'm sure I'm missing something, and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw another trade or two before time's up.

Is it possible that this is the start a new trend in the NFL? Or is this just an anomalous flurry of activity?

I think the FO and coaches expected a down year. But Alex has surprised them so far. So no quick short team fixes when the real plan is all about getting the team ready for Mahomes. Maybe they are sticking to it despite our record amidst a very tough schedule.

Probably most active. Not seeing this as a trend. Conditions were ripe for the teams involved. NE wanted to keep Garoppolo, their hand was forced.

Its because the deadline is week 8 now, it used to be week 6. Clearly people trade more with a little more time to decide who they don't need this season.
