It's pretty clear that the Chiefs have one of the best offenses in the NFL. With the Rams and Saints both struggling over the past few weeks, the Chiefs' offense has surpassed them in points scored with 471 through 13 games.

But they're not just good, they're historically good.



So if the Chiefs can score 26 or more points ​Thursday against the Los Angeles Chargers, they'll set the regular-season record for consecutive games scoring that many points. This isn't just comparing them to the other teams in the NFL this season, this is an all-time record. If they can close out the season and hit 26-plus in 21 straight games, they have a very legitimate claim as the best offense of all time.

​The Chiefs as a team are averaging 36.2 points per game this year with 437.5 yards per game. ​MVP candidate Patrick Mahomes has turned this team from a solid offense with some big-play ability into an absolute offensive juggernaut.

​We'll just have to wait and see if they set the record Thursday night.

The fact that an offense with a mediocre O-line is in the conversation for greatest of all time says it all about Mahomes. It's remarkable how consistently they score TDs, considering they don't consistently open holes for the run game and Mahomes is on the run every other play. But the fact is, they can't line up and dominate you physically like the classic great offenses. They rely on tricky play designs and Mahomes's wizardry.
