Pretty cool to have Peter King on your side. He's a Mahomes believer. Great write-up on the Chiefs and Mahomes:

We were up by 11 in the 4th quarter when Sammy breaks open, you could almost here the whole stadium scream SAMMY, and then Mahomes launched it we scored, I cried, I knew it was happening...

Can't stand these contrarian loudmouth trolls. Skip doesn't believe half the things he says. And yet people keep clicking.

When PMII scrambled and went left to the sideline, then shimmied a defender, then stopped, turned up the sideline, ran free to the 8 yard line and crashed into the EZ:

I had 3 immediate thoughts:

1) Otis Taylor juking Karl Kassulke out of shoes and high-stepping into the EZ in Tulane Stadium to seal the title.

2) all the times I'd seen Elway manage to avoid getting sacked and then making a crazy play out of it.

3) The Sunday "Family Circus" comics that would show one those kids going all over the house by a drawn path while their parents were still asleep.

By the way, Scott Van Pelt on Sportscenter's first story after the 2 highlight packages was Andy Reid. I have a feeling you're going to see an overwhelming amount of stuff on him and I'm all for it. Laughed when I saw Cowher doing the tomahawk chop. There's a lot of reasons to love this.

Most on the national stage probably don't realize Cowher's connection to the Chiefs. That he was raised under Marty in KC. I don't know if anyone caught this because it was well after Cowher's viral moment finding out he made the HOF. Of all the coaches in the league, he specifically called out Andy Reid. In a year where coach inductions went really viral, we've got the feel good story the NFL really wants.

Orlovsky - admits he wasn't a great QB. But he's pretty awesome breaking down plays on TV.

I guess this thread is the best place for this story.....

So I've been under the weather for the past several weeks, i'm off today, so decided to go to urgent care and finally get some meds.

I get seen by a doc who's last name is the same as mine, and we start chatting it up about where I'm from, and apparently the doc spent some time at UMKC med center several decades ago. (a bit of a rare coincidence, given that i live in San Diego....)

We talk about chiefs for a bit, and says "I used to get to watch games at arrowhead in the owner's suite, as my good buddy was Lamar Hunt's proctologist!" "He was always nice to us (especially my buddy)....but I guess maybe that's because he was his proctologist!" (chuckling, of course)

Talk about a small world, and unbelievable coincidence!

(I didnt have the guts to ask "so....how was Clark's a-hole? Tip-top shape?")

We are a big market team this week. Eagles fans seem to be overwhelmingly pulling for Andy Reid. Cool little story I saw here. Mahomes is a big story, but Andy Reid will be story #1 the next 2 weeks. Count on that.
