I finally drilled into the video of the briefing and boy am I licking my chops. Just hoping we have a somewhat normal season after what all the nation and world has had to adjust to.

Edwards Helaire is a big Muscle Car fan and apparently his favorite is a 1967 Mustang Fastback. I should try to make friends with him haha.

I've already heard the story about Veach sending the text to Mahomes. But for some reason just now when I read it, I actually got a little misty-eyed. Just a bit.

I think the way nfl.com guy wrote this story is what did it. It was the realization that just when I thought Mahomes couldn't be any more perfect of a QB, he's also got this bizarre ESP going with our goddamn GM.

So not only is he the most ridiculous examples of arm talent the NFL has ever seen, but he's gutsy and already one of the best locker room leaders at the QB position in the league. He's also well-built and not one of those stickboy QBs like RGIII or Teddy Bridgewater, so we know he's going to be durable provided he continues to find ways to protect himself. He's extremely smart and loves football more than anything, so he's not a dipshit like Jeff George or Jay Cutler. He's a midwest kid, so he just plain understands KC and its community better than other QBs. He has manners-- he's a nice guy, he treats absolutely EVERYBODY with respect. He avoids controversy and anything that distracts from football. He's made of stuff that takes curses and tells them to go **** themselves. Even when he's lying on a field with his kneecap on the side of his leg, it gets snapped back into place and the doctors say, "He was just born with this gumby-like skeletal system... what would be a season ending injury for most guys is going to be nothing in terms of recovery time for him."

But now we even drafted him into a setup that has Reid and Veach on staff? Think about the best QBs in the NFL right now and the relationship they have with their coaching staffs and front office. Tom Brady can't claim he's had support or that Belichick would give two shits what he thinks about who the team should draft. Rodgers is an asshole, but he's also getting ****ed by his own team right now. O'Brien is probably nice to Watson and a decent QB coach, but he's an idiot in charge who is ****ing over his QB's career. Russell Wilson's GM has basically tried to kill him these many years, and it isn't until recently that Russell finally rose above it and they're finally starting to invest in an OL and weapons, but only incrementally. I guess about the only example I can think of where a QB's relationship with his HC/GM comes close to being as symbiotic as Mahomes' is would be Sean Payton to Drew Brees.

Like, it would be fine if Veach/Reid were just good at their jobs while not being assholes to Mahomes. That's already better than 99% of the league. And it would be fine if Mahomes were just like, "Meh, they're in charge, let's just go play some football." But Christ... Mahomes and the people in charge even THINK alike! And this kid is under 25 years old!

Before April of 2017 I would have been happy with the franchise just TRYING to draft a first round QB. If he busted, I would have still supported the move. The fact that he hit was even better. But... all this stuff on this list of good Mahomes traits is PERFECTION. I would have been over the moon to learn that our new QB possessed only the smallest number of traits necessary to win a Super Bowl. But instead we got the best damn combination of traits with the best possible coaching staff and GM. And they're ALL on the same page.

Mahomes isn't done surprising us all yet, either. You think, "Okay, Mahomes, you honestly can't get any better." But he's going to do something else that makes him MORE perfect. I don't know what it is yet, but I can't wait to find out.

That's kind of why I slightly teared up a bit.

You know. I STILL wake up and am like "wow the Chiefs have Mahomes and are the best team in the league." It's just all still so surreal. It's awesome.

“I still feel like I can play ball and still keep up with the young people," said Charles, per James Palmer of the NFL Network. “Why Denver? I always wanted to play for Denver growing up," added Charles when asked why he chose the Broncos, via Paul Klee of the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Charles admitted he wasn't fully healthy last season, per Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post, saying, "I just wasn't ready last year."

As for his feelings toward the Kansas City Chiefs, Charles said, "It's behind me. ... They say it's a business, but it's personal as well. It is what is," per Jhabvala.

I like JC but his number isn't exactly sacred. The only numbers available for RB's was 25,29,37,39,46.

It was all worth it, it really was.

I wasn't here for the 60-70's, but I was here for 1980-2018.

All of it, worth it in the end.

It's glorious.

I still have to stop myself during the day when I think that the Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bow champions and we have an outstanding 15 more years with Mahomes at the helm.

I still think the Chiefs Super Bowl Champions towel hanging next to my bed is God ****ing around with real-life Photoshop.

Even if the Chiefs had traded up to take Ruggs...I dont think he would have impacted the over-all offense like CEH will.

I really cant think of any player that would have... especially as a rookie.

Even if Murry or a top CB fell....on a game to game basis, CEH will affect the outcome more.

I'm usually pretty meh about rookies in year one....but Helaire is more talented than Hunt.

I'm fully expecting the offense to resemble the 2018 team....which averaged around 10 more points a game when Hunt was playing.
