News New Red X Building Coming to Riverside

Red X is one of KC's oldest grocery and liquor stores on the north side of the Missouri River. It's been an iconic one of a kind place with all kinds of funky stuff. They've outgrown their building (which is 50 years old now) so they're going to build a modern one right next door by next year. Cool! I only get to Riverside once in a blue moon, but I've always enjoyed stopping into the Red X, usually to pick up good bourbon.

I actually pooped at the Red X once.

Its one of the last places you'd chose but it was a freaking emergency that came on quick. Facilities were about what you'd expect.

It's where the tradies go on payday to get a carton of smokes and 20 dollars worth of lotto tickets.

I still remember going to the racetrack that used to be right by that place when I was a kid.

The Jockey Club Lounge up the road is one of the diviest bars I've ever been inside.

I think that building is over 50 years old. I can remember going to the racetrack with my dad as a little kid to watch one of his crew race there. I can attest that was more than 50 years ago.
