Of course...everyone LOVES bacon. I have in-laws from Germany. In theory, they can't get "bacon" there. When they come over, they want BACON.

Went on some Cat adjuster trips back in the day when I was fresh out of college for Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike in 2009. Made alot of money, was gone for about 80 days in a row but it'll take a toll on you. Dont know if Id ever wanna do that full time.

No personal experience, but I'm guessing of all the adjuster roles, a catastrophe adjuster is probably the most well received by the consumer base because they're actually at the scene cutting checks for losses. Cutting a check to someone who just lost their house in a wildfire is probably pretty fulfilling. The money is good compared to other adjuster roles. The flipside is they can be on the road for weeks at a time. Staying in close proximity of other adjusters in hotels for weeks if you know what I'm saying *makes blowjob motion.
Other adjuster roles sound like a miserable life of dealing with people who think you're entire job is to rip them off and arguing endlessly that their '05 Pontiac Aztek isn't still worth what they paid for it. |

We've been working with THREE catastrophic adjusters for almost 2 years now trying to get fixed up from the derecho and tornadoes. It's nothing but a ridiculous back and forth with them trying to get out of paying for anything. |

But you highlight why being an adjuster sucks. Everyone thinks they're being short changed by someone making 40K a year. And maybe they are, idk. I do analytics and predictive modeling for an insurance company and while I've never worked the claims side, I've gotten to know the business somewhat and adjuster life seems pretty miserable. Lot of burn out and turnover, especially now. |

I'm not saying the adjusters are bad people by any means, they have a job to do. But the companies they work for are basically in the business of loss prevention and the adjuster happens to be the messenger that gets shot in the process. The reason we've worked with 3 different adjusters is because they all QUIT at some point. I can't imagine doing that job. |

CAT insurance adjuster is an extremely stressful job. Pays very well, but youre gone for long periods of time and have to deal with people that think you screwed them and ass hole contractors.
