Car-nal Desires: Round 3, Heat 6
Welcome to Round 3! We'll have seven heats in this round. The top two from each heat will move forward, and the top two third-place cars will advance to reduce us a field of 16. (The top third place cars will be identified as those that were closest in percent to the second place car.)
PICK TWO FROM EACH LIST ON THE POLL. 1965 Pontiac GTO 389 Tri-Power Convertible 4-Speed https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...&postcount=146 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV #4912 https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...&postcount=100 '77 T/A Bandit Edition https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...5&postcount=33 1969 Pontiac GTO Ram Air IV Convertible https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...4&postcount=20 Recall the rules below. (Rule #5 was modified slightly from the nomination thread.) 1. This vehicle will be yours at no purchase cost. 2. You will keep your current vehicles, so no need to worry about fitting a baby seat in it or being able to haul mulch. 3. You're responsible for parking it. 4. You pay for gas or electricity. 5. Insurance and maintenance up to $3,000 per month is free to you. You cover the next $1,000 if the expenses are higher, and then after that the expenses are covered. So for a high-end vehicle you'll cover a max of $1,000 per month. 6. The vehicle must be street-legal. 7. The vehicle must actually exist. It cannot be a cartoon or concept drawing. However, it can be a production vehicle, a concept vehicle, a custom vehicle, or anything else that is real. 8. The vehicle being nominated is the exact vehicle shown. You cannot change the color, the interior, the engine size, etc. 9. You cannot use the vehicle to make money. It's only for your personal use. 10. You cannot sell the vehicle. 11. Any type of street-legal vehicle is allowed. You can nominate a car, a truck, a minivan, an RV, a semi-truck, a motorcyle, a classic car, a school bus, whatever. As long as it meets the rules above, it's eligible. |

My easy top choice is the Lamborghini here. That car's got great lines. Question, though: what are those two things that look like buttons on top of the dash on the passenger side?
I'm not really into the 65 GTO. I don't like the vertical headlights and the grille, and the whole car looks like 1960s-era cheap metal fabrication. So it's out. My second vote is Trans Am versus 1969 GTO. The 1969 GTO is a sharp-looking car. I'm not into bench seats, but other than that it's miles ahead of the 1965 version. However, it does not have a huge eagle on the hood that makes me think of Albania's national flag. And Sally Field looked really good in tight jeans back in the 1970s. So I have to go with The Bandit for my second vote.

Lambo #1 for me, I'll go with the Trans Am for my second vote as I prefer the GTO with a hard top.

I'm a huge fan of GM's finest 60s muscle cars. Fun to drive, pretty stable due to the weight, and plenty of room in the cabin. I've driven both the GTOs and the TransAm and the GTOs win every time. Besides, I don't think I could get in and out of the Lambo.

Always liked the curves on the later model Goats over the straight lines. Would've chosen the Lambo over a stock T/A, but the motor upgrade made me choose the Bandit. Hard leaving the Lambo out though, great car.

I think I missed that Lambo previously. Man that's a pretty car.
Definitely the Lambo then just flip a coin for any of these fungible muscle cars. Ah screw it, I'll just take the Lambo and the convertible I guess.
