Wyatt gives me Ryan Sims vibes

Am I alone here?

I'm not a fan of Devonte Wyatt. He played alongside an insanely talented group of players at Georgia in Nakobe Dean, Jordan Davis, Travon Walker, etc and only had five sacks in four years. It does remind me a bit of Sims playing alongside Julius Peppers. In addition, he'll be a 24 year old rookie meaning that he was competing against a lot of guys that were 2 or 3 years younger than him. I want a guy that can sack the QB and I don't see Wyatt being that guy.

I see what you mean. All three of his teammates on the line are likely to be drafted, 2 in the first round. I don't know that I agree that the result will be similar, however.

I guess it depends on who you think were the difference makers and who you project best to the NFL. The hardest part of evaluating these guys is the heavy rotation GA had because they went a solid 6 deep. You have Beal and Carter in the mix with Anderson, Wyatt, Davis, and Walker. Wyatt got more snaps than Davis and Carter. None of them were bad, really, and they are all athletic. You have to think Anderson would at least be a 2nd round pick if not for the rape charges hanging over him and Beal is probably a 1st rounder next year. Carter may end up a day 2 pick somewhere. It's tough. I don't see Wyatt as Ryan Sims because when I watch I see a guy out there making his own plays and disrupting and not cleaning up the scraps others around him are funneling to him. Of course, you never know how things will play out.
