Spags adjustments
Got gashed a few times last night because the safeties didn't have their run fits down which against that team will kill you.

But did anyone else notice Spags change to a bear front quickly last night with Gay on the line?

We dominated that high school offense the second half as we should have.

Zero complaints from me about the defense.

Gave up a couple big plays early, but dominated the rest of the way.

Did what they needed to do until the offense got going.

Spags has been a magician this season.

He gets more done with smoke and mirrors for a pass rush than any defensive coordinator I've ever seen.

And he and his staff's work with so many rookies in the secondary has been stellar.

I read in the chat that Spags was the worst DC in the NFL and should be fired immediately.

After 7 non scoring drives by the offense people were still blaming the defense for how the game was going. We have some dumb ****ing fans.

I liked Malik Willis coming out of the draft a bit and thought he would have looked a bit better than that.

According to pro football reference, Chiefs are:

9th in Hurry Percentage
8th in QB Knockdown Percentage
7th in Pressure Percentage
15th in Sacks (6 of the teams ahead of them have played 9 games though)

We have 22 sacks this year, and only managed 31 all of last season.

Spags does deserve some credit there. Defense looked shitty the first half, outside of the first drive. If they didn't adjust like they did, the second half was going to get ugly. I just wish it didn't take an entire half for Spags to figure it out again.

In reality they looked bad for about 3 or 4 plays the whole game. The narrative they were bad the whole first half is hyperbole.

This is far and away the best coaching job Spags has done since he's been here.

I credit Cullen quite a bit too for the improved play on the d-line, but Spags has this unit so much further ahead of where they should be, it's just incredible. With two true lockdown corners out there now in Sneed and McDuffie, I can't even imagine how much better we'll be in the second half of the season.
