****Official 2008 CP Mock Draft Picks Thread****

The following trades have effected the draft order:

Corey Williams to Cleveland for a R2 pick.

Shaun Rogers to Cleveland for a R3 pick.

Kris Jenkins to the Jets for a R3 pick.

Marcus Stroud to the Bills for a R3 pick.

Redskins to Broncos. The Washington Redskins traded their fourth-round selection in 2008, and their third-round selection in 2007 (used to select Ryan Harris) to the Denver Broncos as part of a three-team trade in which Washington received T.J. Duckett and Atlanta received Ashley Lelie. (This was the result of a formula which could have had Denver and Washington swapping 2007 first-round selections.)

Saints to Jets. The Saints traded their fourth-round selection in 2008 to the Jets, for Jonathan Vilma.

Jets to Panthers. The New York Jets traded their third-round and fifth-round selections to the Carolina Panthers in a deal that sent Kris Jenkins to New York.

Dolphins to Chiefs. Miami (conditionally) traded its fifth-round selection in 2008 to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for Trent Green. The selection would have become a fourth-round selection if Green had met certain performance criteria.

Bears to Bills. Chicago (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Buffalo in exchange for Darwin Walker. The round of the selection may change, depending on Walker's playing time.

Panthers to Bears. The Carolina Panthers traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Chicago in exchange for Chris Harris.

Raiders to Broncos. Oakland (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Denver in exchange for Gerard Warren.

Bills to Jaguars The Buffalo Bills traded a 3rd and 5th round selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars in return for DT Marcus Stroud.

Seahawks to Browns. The Seattle Seahawks traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Cleveland in exchange for Charlie Frye.[24]

Packers to Giants. The Green Bay Packers traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the New York Giants in exchange for running back Ryan Grant.

Broncos to Rams. Denver traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the St. Louis Rams for defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy.[26] The trade occurred after the Broncos had tried to trade the same pick to Miami for defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson; that trade was voided.

Browns to Eagles. Cleveland traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for center Hank Fraley. The trade was conditional on games started by Fraley, and could have fallen to a seventh-round pick, but Fraley started all 16 games.

Cowboys/Dolphins swap. The teams swapped their sixth-round selections in a trade involving Jason Ferguson.

Jaguars to Vikings. Jacksonville traded their sixth-round selection for Troy Williamson.

Texans to Broncos. Houston traded their sixth-round pick for Chris Myers.

Steelers to Falcons. The Pittsburgh Steelers traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Atlanta for kick/punt returner Allen Rossum.

Seahawks to Eagles. Seattle traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for fullback Josh Parry.

Eagles to Bills. Philadelphia traded their seventh-round selection in 2008, and defensive tackle Darwin Walker, to Buffalo for linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb.

Rams to Vikings. St. Louis traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Minnesota for offensive tackle Adam Goldberg.

Giants to Chiefs. The New York Giants traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Kansas City for kicker Lawrence Tynes.

Vikings to Jets. Minnesota traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to the Jets in exchange for Brooks Bollinger.

Bengals to Rams. Cincinnati traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to St. Louis in exchange for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

If we invested 60 million dollars in Brodie Croyle I might agree with drafting based on him but we didn't......he can show what he has either way. This team just needs talent right now, I'm very confident that with the OL in this draft I could pull 2 starters out of the 2nd day, good starters.

Right now I'm not even sure the guy can play 16 games. I don't think the Chiefs should be basing their draft board on what Brodie Croyle needs.

I don't hate Tamba Hali but a pick like this makes him a whole lot better. The Chiefs with my 2 picks have 3 fierce pass rush threats comin....with some other pretty solid guys.

Hey, I'm enjoying the defense you're setting up, Mecca. I love Groves for the same reason(s) you do.

My concern in this situation is Croyle. I simply don't know how we give him any fair chance whatsoever with nobody to protect him and nobody to catch the ball. No QB can be successful after getting sacked 60 times in a season, and with our current OL, I'm afraid that's what we're ending up with.

I do hope we go a full 7 rounds, though, in this mock. I would enjoy seeing how it ends up.

That's fairly evident when you consider the number of people who look past the question of Jake Long's footwork and would select him ahead of Glen Dorsey.

Felix Jones would have been an interesting guy to pair with McGahee, IMO. I could see that. I'm not all that offended by the Flacco pick, because it's a definite area of need and it's not a reach for him at this point in the draft.

I could maybe see Brandon Flowers to take over for Rolle or McAllister. The Tackle from UTEP would be a reach here, IMO.

I'm not crazy about Flacco that early, although I am crazy about his last name. Any rookie QB you draft at this point (except, maybe, for Ryan) is not going to lead the Ravens to the Super Bowl, so obviously if you're going to be drafting QB, you're thinking about rebuilding.

If that's the case, go all out. Two MLBs still on the board would be worthy heirs to Ray Lewis, I believe. Jared Mayo is a great prospect, but Curtis Lofton would be the ideal successor to Lewis' throne. How much does Lewis have left, anyway? If you feel he doesn't have much left, you could bring in Lofton seeing how he's one of the better guys l have left on the board. Not a conventional choice, but it's there.

Do you dislike my draft? I'm curious how many people hate my picks...

Also for that 3rd pick I have several guys targeted not all of them are Olinemen, hell most of them aren't....I still see a couple 1st round talents on the board.

I don't hate your picks, I actually enjoy them. I think they're a lot wiser than some give them credit for.

I just fear for Croyle.

I still don't think there's a whole lotta difference in all these OT's and I feel a OG can be pulled out of the 2nd day and start and be solid...

I know it bothers people but I believe 2 starting Olineman can easily be pulled out of day 2 of this draft.

Honestly, I would have picked either Flowers or Jones over Flacco. I think they're both first round talents, whereas I think Flacco's a glorified 3rd whose physical attributes and promise will float him up a round. I think it's too early where you drafted him.

People have to remember that the same knocks you have on Brohm you have to multiply for Flacco. He plays in a pass happy system that favors flashy stats, and he did it against much worse competition than Brohm did. I don't think Flacco saw an NFL talent in the opposing secondary at all during his career. He's a major project and it'll take him two years of clipboard-holding to test him out.

That said, he is physically prime. Great size, ideal size, and a fantastic arm. Seems to be a quality character who works hard, but he's not going to command a locker room for a long time.

Actually I was talking about DE. I think DE is just about the only position besides Safety that we dont have a dire need for. Any other position could use a solid if not spectacular player. We cant play 3 DE at once and Hali isnt a DT.
