The following trades have effected the draft order:

Corey Williams to Cleveland for a R2 pick.

Shaun Rogers to Cleveland for a R3 pick.

Kris Jenkins to the Jets for a R3 pick.

Marcus Stroud to the Bills for a R3 pick.

Redskins to Broncos. The Washington Redskins traded their fourth-round selection in 2008, and their third-round selection in 2007 (used to select Ryan Harris) to the Denver Broncos as part of a three-team trade in which Washington received T.J. Duckett and Atlanta received Ashley Lelie. (This was the result of a formula which could have had Denver and Washington swapping 2007 first-round selections.)

Saints to Jets. The Saints traded their fourth-round selection in 2008 to the Jets, for Jonathan Vilma.

Jets to Panthers. The New York Jets traded their third-round and fifth-round selections to the Carolina Panthers in a deal that sent Kris Jenkins to New York.

Dolphins to Chiefs. Miami (conditionally) traded its fifth-round selection in 2008 to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for Trent Green. The selection would have become a fourth-round selection if Green had met certain performance criteria.

Bears to Bills. Chicago (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Buffalo in exchange for Darwin Walker. The round of the selection may change, depending on Walker's playing time.

Panthers to Bears. The Carolina Panthers traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Chicago in exchange for Chris Harris.

Raiders to Broncos. Oakland (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Denver in exchange for Gerard Warren.

Bills to Jaguars The Buffalo Bills traded a 3rd and 5th round selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars in return for DT Marcus Stroud.

Seahawks to Browns. The Seattle Seahawks traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Cleveland in exchange for Charlie Frye.[24]

Packers to Giants. The Green Bay Packers traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the New York Giants in exchange for running back Ryan Grant.

Broncos to Rams. Denver traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the St. Louis Rams for defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy.[26] The trade occurred after the Broncos had tried to trade the same pick to Miami for defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson; that trade was voided.

Browns to Eagles. Cleveland traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for center Hank Fraley. The trade was conditional on games started by Fraley, and could have fallen to a seventh-round pick, but Fraley started all 16 games.

Cowboys/Dolphins swap. The teams swapped their sixth-round selections in a trade involving Jason Ferguson.

Jaguars to Vikings. Jacksonville traded their sixth-round selection for Troy Williamson.

Texans to Broncos. Houston traded their sixth-round pick for Chris Myers.

Steelers to Falcons. The Pittsburgh Steelers traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Atlanta for kick/punt returner Allen Rossum.

Seahawks to Eagles. Seattle traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for fullback Josh Parry.

Eagles to Bills. Philadelphia traded their seventh-round selection in 2008, and defensive tackle Darwin Walker, to Buffalo for linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb.

Rams to Vikings. St. Louis traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Minnesota for offensive tackle Adam Goldberg.

Giants to Chiefs. The New York Giants traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Kansas City for kicker Lawrence Tynes.

Vikings to Jets. Minnesota traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to the Jets in exchange for Brooks Bollinger.

Bengals to Rams. Cincinnati traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to St. Louis in exchange for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Panthers on the clock

As many other teams have seen players go off their boards so have the panthers. Panthers know they need a OT but feel they can get good value later in the draft. A top safety would be nice as well but feel this is too early to pick one up here.

So then they look at what they have been missing a strong middle LB. They thought they had gotten that with dan morgan but injuries robbed them of what could have been a great player.

With the 43rd pick in the draft the Carolina Panthers select Jerod Mayo ILB from Tennesee

Mayo or Lofton were exactly the 2 ILBs I was thinkin about, but decided to grab an OT while still there. I almost flipped a coin b/n Mayo and Collins.

Keep in mind that I do like your 2 picks. And I can see where the front four on defense needs to be great. But I am having a hard time seeing where having the best front four in football, and a totally crappy offense improves our team.

Wouldn't our defense be just as good, if not better, if we improved our front five on the offensive side of the ball? Give our offensive weapon... LJ... a line to operate behind. Give Croyle the chance to run an honest PA pass from time to time to Gonzo to Bowe. Give the defense a chance to rest, as hopefully the TOP swings into the favor of the Chiefs because we are able to run and pass the ball down the field.... even if it only results in FG's for now.

A front 4 of Allen, Turk, Tank, and a healthy Hali looks pretty formidable. Edwards and Boone for relief in the middle. And obviously you have to fill the other two spots from somewhere.

But a solid front 5 on the other side of the ball is critical as well.

So again, here is my question #2. Wouldn't our defense be just as good, if not better, if we improved our front five on the offensive side of the ball?

Bottom line the other side can only help so much you need players, Herm is a D guy so that side should be favored, it also helps that this draft is much more D heavy.

No I'm not Dick Vermeil. Just asking you a question. IMO, we invested a 2nd and a 3rd round pick at the very same spots last season. We all know it takes time for these guys to adjust to the pro level in the trenches. Let them play and prove their worth. If they suck, fire Gun and Krumrine.

I'm sorry I don't believe in reaching for Olinemen when they aren't the best players on the board because it's our perceived biggest need when we are an overall god awful team.

We need talent period.

It takes 3 good DTs and 3 good DEs to form a formidable defensive line. DLine players rotate. Right now we have Hali and Allen as ends and Boone, Turk, Tank, Edwards as DTs. If we get a stud DT at #5 then we can rotate stud DT, Tank and Boone at DT and Hali, Allen and Turk at DE.

To add to this Ron Edwards really isn't good and Boone is getting old....

If you were to add my 2 picks you have the 3 and 3 with young players...Allen, Groves, Hali, Ellis, Tank and Turk.......also Turk provides some versatility with the ability to be a big end.

That sets us up nicely on defense, I know people ignore this but I believe a starting RT and RG that are pretty good can be pulled out of the 2nd day of this draft...

Panthers know they need a OT but feel they can get good value later in the draft. A top safety would be nice as well but feel this is too early to pick one up here. So then they look at what they have been missing a strong middle LB. They thought they had gotten that with dan morgan but injuries robbed them of what could have been a great player. With the 43rd pick in the draft the Carolina Panthers select Jerod Mayo ILB from Tennesee

And I can see where the front four on defense needs to be great. But I am having a hard time seeing where having the best front four in football, and a totally crappy offense improves our team. Wouldn't our defense be just as good, if not better, if we improved our front five on the offensive side of the ball? Give our offensive weapon... LJ... a line to operate behind. Give Croyle the chance to run an honest PA pass from time to time to Gonzo to Bowe. Give the defense a chance to rest, as hopefully the TOP swings into the favor of the Chiefs because we are able to run and pass the ball down the field.... even if it only results in FG's for now. A front 4 of Allen, Turk, Tank, and a healthy Hali looks pretty formidable. Edwards and Boone for relief in the middle. And obviously you have to fill the other two spots from somewhere. But a solid front 5 on the other side of the ball is critical as well. So again, here is my question #2. Wouldn't our defense be just as good, if not better, if we improved our front five on the offensive side of the ball?

Bottom line the other side can only help so much you need players, Herm is a D guy so that side should be favored, it also helps that this draft is much more D heavy.
