In my opinion...
Best drafts at the end of day one: 1. Cowboys (htismaqe) - OT Williams, CB Talib, RB Charles 2. Lions (BigRock) - OT Clady, CB Flowers 3. Cardinals (Archie Bunker) - RB Mendenhall, CB Porter 4. Raiders (ChiefsCountry) - DE Long, DT Balmer 5. Bears (Sanka) - WR Kelly, RB Jones Worst five drafts at the end of day one: 1. Steelers (milkman) - OG Albert, OG Rachal 2. Ravens (Mr Flopnuts) - CB McKelvin, QB Flacco 3. Broncos (ct) - FS Phillips, OT Collins 4. Redskins (Sully) - OT Cherilus, WR Nelson 5. Seahawks (DaKCmanAP) - WR Jackson, TE Cottam |

I think I might have to put the Broncos as my worst draft so far. Every pick he's had....he's reached.....and reached badly.
Pittsburgh probably shouldn't have gone guard in the 2nd.....but I can see why he did. |

I only go OG in the first round if I'm sure the guy's a perennial All Pro. That's it.
If you think Albert's the next Alan Faneca, he's worth the pick, but I don't know if you can ever be that sure. Let him drop, let some stupid team waste a first on guard and fill out your skill positions in the first few rounds. You can find perfectly acceptable starters for the inside line well after the second round. |

The only problem I have with the Cowboys draft is what is Chris Williams to them? They have 2 starters at OT and 2 guys they took on the first day last year....
I also don't think Talib can play in their system, they put a ton of pressure on their corners to be able to cover guys by themselves and not get beat. |

You think Flacco makes that the 2nd worst draft here? I've seen lots of your opinions, and haven't agreed with many of them on this thread, but that takes the cake. |

Good point about Talib, however. |

It's more than Flacco, though, although I didn't like that pick at all. I don't like McKelvin as much as the rest of the universe seems to. He's got all the ability but he's incredibly raw and maybe the single-most unproven corner taken off the board so far. I don't think he's worth the hype that he's getting. |

Considering what they signed him to he's there atleast 3 to 4 more years, what do you do with Williams? They've got the 2 picks from last year, it just seems like it creates a logjam at a position.

Williams is superior to either of the guys drafted last year. And if you think Flozelle can hold down the LT into his late thirties, that's on you. I don't believe that, and I think we'd see Williams take it over sooner than later.

His contract basically dictates it....
I just have a really hard time buying that a team that is close to a Superbowl is going to take a player who won't contribute for 2 years. |
