I don't think it's any surprise, to anybody who's followed my many posts in this thread or anybody who knows the Falcons, who I believe they should take with their next pick. I believe Bell is officially at "steal" status right now as a potentially strong MLB in this league, and the Falcons have a fairly good-sized hole at that exact position now that they're shuffling folks around.
DaKCManAP and I've disagreed fairly frequently on this stuff, but that's my opinion. |

Since Donnie Avery is gone and the Falcons do have a need at MLB so they can move Keith Brooking to OLB, The Atlanta Falcons select ILB Beau Bell, UNLV.

Great stuff Direckshun. Steltz is a good player but his potential is limited. The Giants love speedy DBs and Johnson has much more upside. Not worrying about the future and drafting to win the SB next year, you take Steltz. Not a bad decision if Strahan comes back.

One question for Mecca, you may have already answered this sorry if I missed it.
Groves was good value for the second round pick, but Devin Thomas was also rated by many as a first rounder and would have solved a greater need for this team: a big speedy receiver with a high ceiling to pair opposite Bowe. Obviously he isn't perfect and has limited experience. Did you consider him with the pick? |

Well here is one of my favorite sleepers of the draft and I believe this guy should start right away...and has excellent potential to be a very good player in the league..
So with this pick the Chiefs select Jerome Simpson WR, Coastal Carolina. |

Strengths: Excellent natural athlete...Nice height and bulk with long arms...Has huge 11-inch hands and he will make the spectacular catch..Outstanding leaping ability...Terrific body control and ball skills...Understands how to get open...Gives good effort as a blocker...Tough and fearless..Hard worker with good intangibles...Nice production. Weaknesses: Did not play against top competition...Doesn't have elite speed or quickness...Not very explosive and lacks a burst...Doesn't appear to get much separation...Is not real elusive and won't do much damage after the catch...Not a big play threat and won't stretch the field....Has to get stronger...Needs to work on his route running. Notes: Will follow in the footsteps of his former quarterback Tyler Thigpen to become the second Chanticleer player to ever be drafted...Also participated in track at Coastal Carolina and holds school records for the long jump and the high jump...Four-year starter...Was one of the stars of the East-West Shrine week...At the NFL Scouting Combine he placed among the top ten wideouts in the forty, the vertical jump and the broad jump..Will try and follow in the footsteps of other small school receivers such as Marques Colston & Jacoby Jones...His freakishly long arms and big hands are definite eye-openers...Despite his small school roots he has starting potential. |

Simpson's a very interesting pick.
I don't think he's ready to start in the NFL though, not right away anyway. |

He has several things that I think are extremely important to the position..
1. He's a great athlete 2. He knows how to get open 3. Excellent size/speed ratio The size of his arms and hands...body control, he has the natural things you look for. I like him alot more than several of the WR's that have already been taken. |
