The following trades have effected the draft order:

Corey Williams to Cleveland for a R2 pick.

Shaun Rogers to Cleveland for a R3 pick.

Kris Jenkins to the Jets for a R3 pick.

Marcus Stroud to the Bills for a R3 pick.

Redskins to Broncos. The Washington Redskins traded their fourth-round selection in 2008, and their third-round selection in 2007 (used to select Ryan Harris) to the Denver Broncos as part of a three-team trade in which Washington received T.J. Duckett and Atlanta received Ashley Lelie. (This was the result of a formula which could have had Denver and Washington swapping 2007 first-round selections.)

Saints to Jets. The Saints traded their fourth-round selection in 2008 to the Jets, for Jonathan Vilma.

Jets to Panthers. The New York Jets traded their third-round and fifth-round selections to the Carolina Panthers in a deal that sent Kris Jenkins to New York.

Dolphins to Chiefs. Miami (conditionally) traded its fifth-round selection in 2008 to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for Trent Green. The selection would have become a fourth-round selection if Green had met certain performance criteria.

Bears to Bills. Chicago (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Buffalo in exchange for Darwin Walker. The round of the selection may change, depending on Walker's playing time.

Panthers to Bears. The Carolina Panthers traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Chicago in exchange for Chris Harris.

Raiders to Broncos. Oakland (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Denver in exchange for Gerard Warren.

Bills to Jaguars The Buffalo Bills traded a 3rd and 5th round selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars in return for DT Marcus Stroud.

Seahawks to Browns. The Seattle Seahawks traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Cleveland in exchange for Charlie Frye.[24]

Packers to Giants. The Green Bay Packers traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the New York Giants in exchange for running back Ryan Grant.

Broncos to Rams. Denver traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the St. Louis Rams for defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy.[26] The trade occurred after the Broncos had tried to trade the same pick to Miami for defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson; that trade was voided.

Browns to Eagles. Cleveland traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for center Hank Fraley. The trade was conditional on games started by Fraley, and could have fallen to a seventh-round pick, but Fraley started all 16 games.

Cowboys/Dolphins swap. The teams swapped their sixth-round selections in a trade involving Jason Ferguson.

Jaguars to Vikings. Jacksonville traded their sixth-round selection for Troy Williamson.

Texans to Broncos. Houston traded their sixth-round pick for Chris Myers.

Steelers to Falcons. The Pittsburgh Steelers traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Atlanta for kick/punt returner Allen Rossum.

Seahawks to Eagles. Seattle traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for fullback Josh Parry.

Eagles to Bills. Philadelphia traded their seventh-round selection in 2008, and defensive tackle Darwin Walker, to Buffalo for linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb.

Rams to Vikings. St. Louis traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Minnesota for offensive tackle Adam Goldberg.

Giants to Chiefs. The New York Giants traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Kansas City for kicker Lawrence Tynes.

Vikings to Jets. Minnesota traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to the Jets in exchange for Brooks Bollinger.

Bengals to Rams. Cincinnati traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to St. Louis in exchange for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

I would probably expect King to start over Brackenridge. I've always thought of Brack as a great nickleback.

So out of this draft so far.....that's 3 starters with Ellis, King and Richardson. Groves is a great 3rd DE which will give Hali or Allen a breather that they need. Simpson I could see as a #3 or #4 guy his first year. Choice would help keep LJ healthy along with Kolby.

Like I said Ellis is a great pick. Then you get a pass rush specialist who doesnt use his hands well, and needs to expand his pass rushing repitoire that we would work into a rotation. He also has injury problems and lacks the size to anchor against the run, and is another lack of consistant effort player.
Next is a CB who has the physical tools, but was abused last year by good route runners, looked bad down the stretch when left on an island, and is "not particularly aggressive or physical in run support." I think Herm can get a lot out of this kid, but it looks like another physical attributes verses actual production situation.
Simpson as you said needs work and looked pretty good against bad competition. May end up OK, but just more of what we got. Not too fast, but he does run good routes and relies on that. Whether he fools pro competition remains to be seen.
Choice becomes our 3rd RB... nice complementary pick...Kolby Smith part 2.Maybe he edges him out maybe not. Better players available yet again and at positions that will help the team long term.

Richardson struggled at the senior bowl and although he has great size and can road grate, lacks quickness and balance to face speed rushers. One mag has him the 19th Guard, another 16th OT, another 18th OT. Yea its a later round, but this guy aint starting day 1 even for this team.

Like I said Ellis is a great pick. Then you get a pass rush specialist who doesnt use his hands well, and needs to expand his pass rushing repitoire that we would work into a rotation. He also has injury problems and lacks the size to anchor against the run, and is another lack of consistant effort player.
Next is a CB who has the physical tools, but was abused last year by good route runners, looked bad down the stretch when left on an island, and is "not particularly aggressive or physical in run support." I think Herm can get a lot out of this kid, but it looks like another physical attributes verses actual production situation.
Simpson as you said needs work and looked pretty good against bad competition. May end up OK, but just more of what we got. Not too fast, but he does run good routes and relies on that. Whether he fools pro competition remains to be seen.
Choice becomes our 3rd RB... nice complementary pick...Kolby Smith part 2.Maybe he edges him out maybe not. Better players available yet again and at positions that will help the team long term.

Richardson struggled at the senior bowl and although he has great size and can road grate, lacks quickness and balance to face speed rushers. One mag has him the 19th Guard, another 16th OT, another 18th OT. Yea its a later round, but this guy aint starting day 1 even for this team.

Ok....I'm not calling you out but you've got the draft board up there and how it fell into place. Who would you have picked for the Chiefs?

Baker and Hardy were both gone, and Collins would have been a big-ass reach at 35. Groves is 1st round talent that fell to the 2nd. You HAVE to jump on that, especially when you only have TWO DE's on the roster right now.

I probably would have gone Sullivan instead of Choice....but that's the only pick I questioned.

Thing is, I want to get on Mecca for ignoring OL, but the way this Draft has gone there has nary been OL on the board for him that would be worth the pick because so many people reached for the position in this mock.

I can't blame him for waiting 'til now to go OL, and Richardson's just one of those guys I've fluctuated on wildly. I think he's got all the tools, but he's going to tank it as soon as he gets his first NFL paycheck. If you truly believe you could light a fire under his ass, I would have drafted him in the 3rd. Otherwise, he's a 6th round prospect to me.

I wasn't crazy about the King pick because I think the exact same thing melbar/findthedr? does, and that's that King's a talented underachiever and Mecca got seduced by numbers. I think some part of that is also true for Jerome Simpson, but Simpson is a project who could eventually prove me wrong too easily.

It's hard to argue with the Groves pick, though. Unless we want to see Allen flame out, a 3rd DE this early with Groves' talent is undeniably important. Allen/Hali/Groves is a great trio.

Ellis and Choice were fair picks. Obviously we need depth at both positions and both players would get a lot of time on the field.

All in all I believe it's unconventional and above average, but I'd hesitate to call it brilliant.

Direckshun __ Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Springpatch Casino cash: $2033447	Thing is, I want to get on Mecca for ignoring OL, but the way this Draft has gone there has nary been OL on the board for him that would be worth the pick because so many people reached for the position in this mock. I can't blame him for waiting 'til now to go OL, and Richardson's just one of those guys I've fluctuated on wildly. I think he's got all the tools, but he's going to tank it as soon as he gets his first NFL paycheck. If you truly believe you could light a fire under his ass, I would have drafted him in the 3rd. Otherwise, he's a 6th round prospect to me. I wasn't crazy about the King pick because I think the exact same thing melbar/findthedr? does, and that's that King's a talented underachiever and Mecca got seduced by numbers. I think some part of that is also true for Jerome Simpson, but Simpson is a project who could eventually prove me wrong too easily. It's hard to argue with the Groves pick, though. Unless we want to see Allen flame out, a 3rd DE this early with Groves' talent is undeniably important. Allen/Hali/Groves is a great trio. Ellis and Choice were fair picks. Obviously we need depth at both positions and both players would get a lot of time on the field. All in all I believe it's unconventional and above average, but I'd hesitate to call it brilliant.
