The following trades have effected the draft order:

Corey Williams to Cleveland for a R2 pick.

Shaun Rogers to Cleveland for a R3 pick.

Kris Jenkins to the Jets for a R3 pick.

Marcus Stroud to the Bills for a R3 pick.

Redskins to Broncos. The Washington Redskins traded their fourth-round selection in 2008, and their third-round selection in 2007 (used to select Ryan Harris) to the Denver Broncos as part of a three-team trade in which Washington received T.J. Duckett and Atlanta received Ashley Lelie. (This was the result of a formula which could have had Denver and Washington swapping 2007 first-round selections.)

Saints to Jets. The Saints traded their fourth-round selection in 2008 to the Jets, for Jonathan Vilma.

Jets to Panthers. The New York Jets traded their third-round and fifth-round selections to the Carolina Panthers in a deal that sent Kris Jenkins to New York.

Dolphins to Chiefs. Miami (conditionally) traded its fifth-round selection in 2008 to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for Trent Green. The selection would have become a fourth-round selection if Green had met certain performance criteria.

Bears to Bills. Chicago (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Buffalo in exchange for Darwin Walker. The round of the selection may change, depending on Walker's playing time.

Panthers to Bears. The Carolina Panthers traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Chicago in exchange for Chris Harris.

Raiders to Broncos. Oakland (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Denver in exchange for Gerard Warren.

Bills to Jaguars The Buffalo Bills traded a 3rd and 5th round selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars in return for DT Marcus Stroud.

Seahawks to Browns. The Seattle Seahawks traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Cleveland in exchange for Charlie Frye.[24]

Packers to Giants. The Green Bay Packers traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the New York Giants in exchange for running back Ryan Grant.

Broncos to Rams. Denver traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the St. Louis Rams for defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy.[26] The trade occurred after the Broncos had tried to trade the same pick to Miami for defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson; that trade was voided.

Browns to Eagles. Cleveland traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for center Hank Fraley. The trade was conditional on games started by Fraley, and could have fallen to a seventh-round pick, but Fraley started all 16 games.

Cowboys/Dolphins swap. The teams swapped their sixth-round selections in a trade involving Jason Ferguson.

Jaguars to Vikings. Jacksonville traded their sixth-round selection for Troy Williamson.

Texans to Broncos. Houston traded their sixth-round pick for Chris Myers.

Steelers to Falcons. The Pittsburgh Steelers traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Atlanta for kick/punt returner Allen Rossum.

Seahawks to Eagles. Seattle traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for fullback Josh Parry.

Eagles to Bills. Philadelphia traded their seventh-round selection in 2008, and defensive tackle Darwin Walker, to Buffalo for linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb.

Rams to Vikings. St. Louis traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Minnesota for offensive tackle Adam Goldberg.

Giants to Chiefs. The New York Giants traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Kansas City for kicker Lawrence Tynes.

Vikings to Jets. Minnesota traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to the Jets in exchange for Brooks Bollinger.

Bengals to Rams. Cincinnati traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to St. Louis in exchange for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

When making your selection, please list the player's name, his position and the school he played for. Not everyone has the same level of knowledge about prospects, and this information will help people who want to research these players further.

Also, if you would, please tell us your reasoning for selecting the player you did. It doesn't have to be a novel, just give some insight on your thought process.

Let's have some fun.

That's the thing that I don't think people realize. If they look at the draft they'd notice that Anthony Collins went in the 2nd round. That should tell you right there that this draft has been screwed up from the beginning.

I look at the way I might have Drafted for the Chiefs:

1. DT Sedrick Ellis
2. OT Tony Hills
3. DE Shawn Crable
4. C Steve Justice

People probably wouldn't have liked that much, either.

Wow.

That's MUCH worse than what we have.

I know you could do better than that.

Who else would he have taken in R2?

Baker and Hardy were both gone, and Collins would have been a big-ass reach at 35. Groves is 1st round talent that fell to the 2nd. You HAVE to jump on that, especially when you only have TWO DE's on the roster right now.

King was ABSOLUTELY the right pick in the 3rd.

Simpson doesn't thrill me, but shy of trading down, what else could you do there? Pollack was already gone, and any other OL would have been a reach.

As mentioned, Choice was strictly a value pick. He should have been gone a round-and-a-half ago. Richardson fills a need, and people are bitching about it. McGlynn and Zuttah were already off the board.

John Grecco is being touted as 3rd round talent on many mock drafts. He was available when Mecca picked and I thought for sure he was going to take him. The talent has been good, but if our draft goes like this and we don't address the o line at all, we're in trouble.

2008 is lost. Fine. We need to at least get started on this line, otherwise 2009 and 2010 are gone too. I don't think anyone wants to see the Chiefs not make the playoffs before 2011. For those who think that's already the case, good for you. I've seen too many worst to first turnarounds in this league to be that jaded. This team was better than 4-12 last year. They gave up. I'm more concerned with the front office and coaching staff than I am with the roster at this point.

FWIW, Greco was the 135th player on my board.

If you forced me to make a different pick for every round, I'd probably go something like this. And I'll say right now I'M not even a fan of it.

R1: Jake Long

R2: Patrick Lee

If the board fell the same -

1. Ellis DT - Unquestionably bpa, and improves entire Defense.

2. Flowere CB- Not a speedster, but smart, breaks well, makes reads,
great instincts, great tackler....immediate starter

3. Scheunning G- Solid, smart, tough, team leader, durable, strong and
tenacious. Should be a solid starter for years

4. Bowman WR- Great size, hands, acceleration, seperation, intelligence,
work ethic, #1 WR ability just needs work. #2 this year?

5a. Cody Wallace C- Tough, intelligent, knee bend, strength, solid footwork
and balance. Plays nasty. Lots of awards, could start.

5b. Avery WR/KR- World class speed. Crisp route runner, but slight. Plays hard
and will take a hit. Shifty and agile. Not #1, but home-run
hitter.

This draft to me shows how likely it is that all the top OT are gone quickly. I think there are slight reaches here, but for guys that can start, not athletic projects who rank higher on potential. I'd rather have a football player. I see every pick here starting (avery as KR maybe slot)

OK, I'm putting on my helmet and flack jacket, let me have it

Mecca, I think you've done a nice job of collecting talent for the Chiefs. Here's what I would have done. I'm a Michigan homer, this is a disclaimer.

RD1-J. Long-He's not Trezelle but he will be our LT for a LONG time. pun intended
RD2-D. Thomas-#2 WR and KR/PR all-in-one-pick Now that's value
RD3-J. King-A better pick for value for need couldn't have been made in this mock
RD4-S. Justice-rock solid C for a decade, slide Rudy to G and say hello to our new O-Line
RD5-T. Choice-see J. King
RD5-I can't tell......too many good players still OTB to name drop here, call me The Anti-Direkshun
Like I opened with, I think you've done an good job but Long in the first and Justice in the fourth makes too much sense not to do it. King and Choice were AWESOME value picks.

I like the Ellis pick, so I totally forgot you passed on Long!!
That would change a bit for me, but then again Replace Ellis for Long here, and I still like it.

Flowers and Bowman might end up in jail before they ever play a game. Pass on the thugs.

Donnie Avery was picked before us in the 4TH round, it'd be a bit hard to grab him in the 5th.

Wallace is a full round reach, IMO. If you want a center, take Sullivan.

If you're hell-bent on getting a KR, take Dexter Jackson in the 5th.

Wallace has been tagged a 4th rounder from what I've seen, but I like him better than Sullivan and I'd rather not miss on both by waiting. Must have missed Avery. Dwight Lowrey looked really good there also. Havent seen anything about Flowers off field problems. Regardless, I think its a better draft with more talented players.
