****Official 2008 CP Mock Draft Picks Thread****

The following trades have effected the draft order:

Corey Williams to Cleveland for a R2 pick.

Shaun Rogers to Cleveland for a R3 pick.

Kris Jenkins to the Jets for a R3 pick.

Marcus Stroud to the Bills for a R3 pick.

Redskins to Broncos. The Washington Redskins traded their fourth-round selection in 2008, and their third-round selection in 2007 (used to select Ryan Harris) to the Denver Broncos as part of a three-team trade in which Washington received T.J. Duckett and Atlanta received Ashley Lelie. (This was the result of a formula which could have had Denver and Washington swapping 2007 first-round selections.)

Saints to Jets. The Saints traded their fourth-round selection in 2008 to the Jets, for Jonathan Vilma.

Jets to Panthers. The New York Jets traded their third-round and fifth-round selections to the Carolina Panthers in a deal that sent Kris Jenkins to New York.

Dolphins to Chiefs. Miami (conditionally) traded its fifth-round selection in 2008 to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for Trent Green. The selection would have become a fourth-round selection if Green had met certain performance criteria.

Bears to Bills. Chicago (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Buffalo in exchange for Darwin Walker. The round of the selection may change, depending on Walker's playing time.

Panthers to Bears. The Carolina Panthers traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Chicago in exchange for Chris Harris.

Raiders to Broncos. Oakland (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Denver in exchange for Gerard Warren.

Bills to Jaguars The Buffalo Bills traded a 3rd and 5th round selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars in return for DT Marcus Stroud.

Seahawks to Browns. The Seattle Seahawks traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Cleveland in exchange for Charlie Frye.[24]

Packers to Giants. The Green Bay Packers traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the New York Giants in exchange for running back Ryan Grant.

Broncos to Rams. Denver traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the St. Louis Rams for defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy.[26] The trade occurred after the Broncos had tried to trade the same pick to Miami for defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson; that trade was voided.

Browns to Eagles. Cleveland traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for center Hank Fraley. The trade was conditional on games started by Fraley, and could have fallen to a seventh-round pick, but Fraley started all 16 games.

Cowboys/Dolphins swap. The teams swapped their sixth-round selections in a trade involving Jason Ferguson.

Jaguars to Vikings. Jacksonville traded their sixth-round selection for Troy Williamson.

Texans to Broncos. Houston traded their sixth-round pick for Chris Myers.

Steelers to Falcons. The Pittsburgh Steelers traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Atlanta for kick/punt returner Allen Rossum.

Seahawks to Eagles. Seattle traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for fullback Josh Parry.

Eagles to Bills. Philadelphia traded their seventh-round selection in 2008, and defensive tackle Darwin Walker, to Buffalo for linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb.

Rams to Vikings. St. Louis traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Minnesota for offensive tackle Adam Goldberg.

Giants to Chiefs. The New York Giants traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Kansas City for kicker Lawrence Tynes.

Vikings to Jets. Minnesota traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to the Jets in exchange for Brooks Bollinger.

Bengals to Rams. Cincinnati traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to St. Louis in exchange for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

I've loved his late round picks so far, and his early round picks weren't poor as much as they were very different from what I would have done.

I like Mecca's mock, I think going DT and DE with our first 2 picks makes a lot more sense than people think. Our D-line is thin, and I think we've got more talent on the O-line than we think. I think a few of the young guys will be big upgrades over Terry/Turley--and coaching will help a bunch as well.

Yes, we still need to draft offensive linemen, but I don't think that 1 OT is going to impact our line as many people around here do.

I seriously considered Dingle, but his age and that fact that he transfereed to a small program to put up his numbers were too concerning to take a chance. The Rams go with the safer pick and select, MLBer from Illinois, Big 10 first-team, all-american, Jeremy Leman. The upside is too much to pass on. Leman was the heart and soul of that Illinois defense.

Good pick, I think. Only thing that concerns me is that your pass rushing may still be lackluster because that's apparently the biggest knock on Leman, that he's not that good of a pass rusher.

But I'm all for improving the Rams' D, and you picked as good a position and player as any.

With the 172nd pick the carolina panthers select DE/LB Chase Ortiz from TCU.

CAroliana has gone under the plan of taking BAA no matter what the position.

chase gets after the qb and has a motor that doesn't stop. With some coaching could be special. Also having watched the giants rotate DE the panthers feel they could do the same.

I saw Leman play live last season against Wisconsin and the kid had a heck of a game. Tore it up against Ohio State too.

Thanks, Direckshun. You're pimping of Ortiz allowed for the guy that I had rated higher to possibly slip towards the Vikings. As we all know, the Vikes have a horrendous pass rush, and although Philip Merling is a nice start, he's not going to completely solidify that line in 3rd down situations. This is a guy, who with proper coaching, could be a very effective situational pass rusher. Had he played at a D-I school, he probably would have gone a round or two earlier.

With the 173rd pick in the NFL draft, the Minnesota Vikings select Brian Johnston, DE Gardner Webb

My Eagles are up. Here's how we've drafted so far:

The Eagles chew on a few options at this point:

QB Dennis Dixon is not an option because the Eagles are satisfied with Kolb. Kolb is our current QBotF with Feeley and McNabb around to make things interesting. SS Jamie Silva is around as well to make things interesting at the SS position if desired. Woodyard has a future at the position, better speed, and more impressive upside, but Silva would be a great guy to slip in the rotation. You can never have too much help at CB, and Darnell Terrell would make for an interesting project -- his size and speed are right, and Philly's intrigued.

The Eagles, however, will soon be in desperate need of passrushing and are in a situation where they can grab a couple different guys that can make some noise. All they have at the moment is Trent Cole, as Kearse was cut and Howard isn't far behind. Now, the Eagles just signed Chris Clemons, who was a great situational rusher for the Raiders and they are on the hunt for a good workhorse DE in the 6th.

The best option on the board initially seems to be DE Johnny Dingle from West Virginia. Dingle only had one year of production at West Viriginia but he was relentless; he was difficult to run at and he consistently found penetration. Dingle's rapid development intrigues the DL-loving Eagles, who believe they can perhaps immediately place him across from Trent Cole and rotate Clemons in for obvious passrushing situations. Ken Iwebema was also a consideration, but the Eagles need a consistent passrush and Iwebema's a lunchpail guy. They also loved Buffalo's Trevor Scott but he's a situational guy and Clemons already fills that role.

With the 175th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select DE Johnny Dingle from West Virginia University.

Maybe.

It depends if we get it done soon enough and I've got time to kill around that time.

I'm not going to do anything cool like that after the ACTUAL Draft of course, nor will I be doing it the weekend of at all because I'll be out of town.

But I may put some pizzazz in there if the situation calls for it.
