Rumor from Shanahan's son

I talked to Kyle Shanahan last night, Mike's son. I ran into him at Cherry Creek Mall in the Oakley Store here in Denver. He said his dad is going to coach this year and most likely for the Chiefs. There is one other team out there that could land his Dad, but KC is closer to Denver and Shanahan would like to be as close to Colorado as possible. Anyway, take it for what it's worth.

Warpaint was hardly unique in suggesting Pioli was a candidate for the Chiefs' GM position. Now if Athan is right about this when all the "legitimate" media says there is no story, then kudos to him.

Except that wasn't what we were doing.

When people thought it was a longshot we were reporting that it was looking more and more likely by the day.

Given the similar nature of the Shanahan reports we've been receiving, there's more to this than Jack Harry and tom foolery from the Orange Mane.

Nick always waivered between 50/50 and 75/25 that Pioli was coming. It went from 50/50 to 75/25 to 50/50 multiple times.

It's also hilarious that you actually think Gunther prefered to run the cover two and it's wasn't forced down his throat, even knowing that Herm IS A COVER TWO disciple and brought his shit defense with him.

Don't confuse my dislike for Herm's coaching as an endorsement for Gunther, either.

Why?

Thigpen has talent. I think Shanny could do great things with him.

Coming from me, shocking, I know.

So it's been nine pages, that I don't have the time and the willpower to discuss.

What's the consensus of the thread so far?

Whether it is Thiggy, Stafford, or Sanchez, whoever is the next QB would defintely benefit from the Rat's expertise. My only concern if the Rat is HC our DC will have to be a tremendous grab IMO. Maybe the Panthers DC who just quit Carolina. Perhaps he might be able to convince Peppers to come on board?

Shanahan won two Superbowls with Greg Robinson...

And Robinson is available...

Could it be?

YES, it must be! Pioli-Shanahan-Robinson 2009!
