It makes complete sense. Why today? For what other reason?

They could have fired him last week. They didn't, because Shanahan was still playing golf or getting his toes waxed or whatever the hell he does.

Do you think they were just letting Herm's assistants walk without KNOWING they were going to fire him? They officially fired him TODAY, the last day they could before the Super Bowl.
