Chiefs | Johnson probably will be shopped
Fri, 23 Jan 2009 13:33:58 -0800

Bill Williamson, of ESPN.com, reports the Kansas City Chiefs probably will peruse trade options for RB Larry Johnson this offseason. He would probably be released if the Chiefs can't find a trade partner.

What a stupid report. If the Chiefs can't fine a trade partner he will be released. What team in their right mind would trade if he will be available anyway?

That just might be happening right now, Shanny lobbying for Sanchez with the 3rd pick so he can have his "QBOTF" in KC.

Sanchez has only 16 starts on a loaded team which makes it alot easier to perform. Matt Ryan didn't have that in BC and still performed well. Doesn't that make Sanchez somewhat of a risky pick at 3?

LJ is the type of runningback that Shanahan trades away. If Johnson can't block or catch, he's got no place in Shanahan's system.

I don't doubt Larry's ability to run the ball, but Shanahan has an ethic of being a "football player." That means blocking and catching.

Further, Johnson's attitude would not last in Shanahan's lockerroom for very long. Once you're in Shanahan's dog house, you don't get out of it.

So say the naysayers and "experts", but these are the same people that judged Flowers as not being worthy of first-round.

Mark's skill-set is untouched by any other QB in THIS draft OR the next. I'm just one person, but his signing to the Chiefs is a deal-sealer of the highest magnitude for me.

well if we go 3 - 4 i'd bet the farm we dont go QB at 3 and we trade down to try and fill more gaps on the D side. so who knows, might not matter much who is there at 3 if we need to give our defense a shot of players who CAN play 3 - 4

if we went QB though and it was sanchez... i coulnt be mad b/c at least were making an effort at getting a QBOTF and not trying to salvage other team castoffs and or attempting to luck into a late round diamond...

That's my take.
You go and spend the bucks on Pioli, you should be operating in a no-compromise, "do it right, or don't do it at all" way.

Larry can catch. That he can't is an urban myth.

His blocking is questionable.

but i hope you dont discount the first part of my comment too much. trading down and getting more first day picks (that turn out good solid players) on the D side of the ball could help whomever we have drafted (or thiggy) at QB. hell if our D can never stop anyone, then were always playing from behind. its like our offense is always in a two minute drill b/c were always playing from behind.

p.s. no im not saying we SHOULD trade down.. im just saying its nice to have that as a possibility (regardless of its actual chances of occuring)

I don't discount it, I just believe we're looking at a draft where the Chiefs are in a position to pull the trigger and should.

I can see a draft on one 2nd-round LB, and maybe a 3rd-round lineman or DE. But I'm convinced we'll be looking at FA for augmentation to the existing defensive and O-line framework.

But who the hell knows for sure when it comes to the One Arrowhead Nuthouse these days?

Dude. If Shanny is hired, you can take it to the mother****in bank that Sanchez is a Chief. Unless someone sneaks up to number 2, Shanny = Sanchez. Buhlee dat.
