Washington Commanders congressional hearing
Already off to a spicy start.
Edited blanket statement: everybody is aware this is a waste of time and taxpayer money and all politicians suck eggs. It doesn't mean we can't enjoy the schadenfreude of watching the NFL and Snyder in particular get dragged over the proverbial coals. Last edited by Sassy Squatch; 06-22-2022 at 10:38 AM.. |

It’s DC’s pro football franchise and a GD National embarrassment.
The JFK administration knuckled the team into desegregating. So there’s precedent for forcing change in the team through government action. https://www.bigblueview.com/platform...eston-marshall I’m sure they’re trying to force the league to shitcan Snyder. |

Anti-trust exemption. Since the NFL has it the government can get involved in their business to a much greater degree.
There is also the case of potential fraud against either the other owners, players union, or both. |

Just because we have a lot of irons in the fire doesn’t mean you can drop this. They were right to step in on steroids. They are right to step in when the nfl and goodell refuses to do their job. It’s not like he broke a few rules. It was epically bad, then they tried to cover it up, then they leaked emails out of revenge, all while continuing to commit fraud after they got caught. That’s not even getting into the worst of it including withholding millions in customer refunds, defrauding other teams of revenue sharing, on top of the worst of the sexual harassment allegations which includes pimping out his cheerleaders. So what’s the solution, let him keep getting away with it because the economy is bad? I don’t trust congress with this so for that reason, I think it’s useless. But that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be a priority. |

Hes been pushing the envelope to see how much he can get away with. So far it is an obscene amount. If the nfl won’t hold him accountable, who will? Again, we aren’t talking about a normal business. We are talking about a very special arrangement protected by congress. Thinking about all the shitty owners in public sports and how much public money they use, it really should be more common practice to hold owners responsible for misconduct. Pick your poison. Egregious workplace harassment including intimidating whistleblowers. Tampering with investigations. Blatant ftc violations with revenue sharing. Scamming taxpaying ticketholders. Potential sex trafficking. And now an incredibly justified Nevada lawsuit from Jon gruden. |

If there’s any truth to the cheerleader scandal we are talking waaaaayyyyy worse Cubans issue was way more to do with a lack of institutional control and nothing suggests he was part of it Cuban didn’t then fraudulently scam ticketholders out of refunds He didn’t try to weasel his way out of revenue sharing with other teams He didn’t try to derail an entire investigation. Then used that privilege information to leak selective emails about his enemies In other words… maybe some will say “oh that’s bad on the mavs.” That is not the same as Daniel snyder where people left and right can’t figure out how the **** he isn’t in jail, let alone basically keeping his job. |
