Compare the stats. Kelce was the better tight end this season.

This 100%...

Kelce - 97 Rec, 1229 Yds, 12.7 Avg, 5 TD
Kitlle - 85 Rec, 1053 Yds, 12.4 Avg, 5 TD

I don't understand the general, consensus fascination, outside of KC fans, with undermining Kelce and his accomplishments/greatness.

Kittle played in 14 games compared to 16 for Kelce. Both are outstanding players.

Kittle missed 2-4 games. For the stats to be that comparable is in Kittle's favor.

Kelce

97 rec, 1,229 yards, 12.7 avg, long 41, 5 TD.

Kittle

85 rec,1053 yards, 12.4 avg, long 61, 5 TD

Kelce was 12/176 better than Kittle.

Kittle's beast mode play against New Orleans where he dragged multiple guys while being facemasked to put them in position to win that insanely high scoring game is likely what put him over the top.

I think it's incredible that Kelce posted his numbers without Pat for three games.

Or to put it in another way, Kelce continued to post good stats with a HS football coach as his QB for 3 games.

But I get the Kittle thing. He did have a great season, on a team with a great record, in a high-profile market.

I wouldn't call it an "absolute joke," but Kelce has definitely been insanely good this year. He's just done it slowly and steadily rather than through a smaller number of flashy plays.

They're both awesome. Could be argued either way. Kittle is the most important player on the 49ers offense, and arguably the only other player in the entire division more important than him is Russell Wilson.

Their numbers are virtually identical on a per-game basis, Kittle played two fewer games.

The two are very close to one another, it's not an "absolute joke". It's a coin flip.

No it's not. Kittle is where Kelce was a couple of years ago when everyone was drooling over Kelce as opposed to Gronk. Kittle and the defense are why the Niners have a 1st rd bye.

Kittle is faster, quicker, and actually blocks better than Kelce. And both are good blockers. Both have equal hands however Kelce has more drops with a much better QB throwing to him. Besides who cares what the sports press thinks. They just take a "popular flavor of the day" approach as does the entertainment press in general to keep things fresh and forward.
