Porcupine Tree Fans - Read Me
I’m looking for a miracle here.
As I’m sure most of you know, PT is releasing a new album in June and is doing a small US tour in September. They aren’t coming to KC, so when tickets went on sale, I bought 3 pairs of tickets in 2 different cities (Chicago and Denver) as we weren’t sure where we wanted to go. I only did this because I assumed I’d have no problem flipping them for face given their rabid fan base and the fact it’s been 12 years since they toured. Well, looks like I was wrong. A combination of high ticket prices, and the fact they are playing in venues twice the size that they used to has led to me not be able to move these on the fan sites that I’ve visited. There are still plenty of tickets to be had at the box office, but none as good as my seats at their price level. This is what I have: *Sold* Chicago (Auditorium Theater) September 20: sec. DRS-R, row CC, seats 108-109. Price is $227 + $49.27 in fees for $276.27 total. Denver (Bellco) September 25: sec. Orc 3, row 303, seats 311-312. Price is $307 + $63.90 in fees for $370.90 total. The Denver seats are pretty damn good. Like 15 rows back and near the center. The Chicago seats are further back but still 1st level. I’m confident that I’ll be able to get rid of them by the time the shows roll around, but I really don’t want to hold on to $650 worth of tickets until then. Again, I know this is a long shot, but I’ve seen stranger things happen here. Edit: Chicago tickets have sold. Denver tickets still available. Last edited by Third Eye; 05-08-2022 at 02:54 PM.. Too rich for my blood, unfortunately. I’m hoping they do a second leg later and swing through Florida. Wilson’s never missed Florida, always had good crowds.

Yeah, the ticket price has been an issue for people and I don’t blame them. At the same time, I understand that these are musicians who don’t make their money off of album sales/streams, but instead rely on touring and they haven’t been able to do that the last couple of years. I also didn’t get into them until right before their hiatus, so this might be my only chance to see them, even if they are missing Colin and John.

Big Porcupine Tree fan here. Sadly, I admit that I have never seen them live. Wish they'd come here on this tour.
And yeah, I don't even spend that kind of money on Dream Theater. Good luck.

I may be able to take a pair of these tickets off your hands.

Ha, sounds good. I am still waiting on my buddy to make up his mind. He's as big a PT fan as I am, so really only person I would take (the Mrs doesn't care and my daughter "isn't into bands that play 12 minute songs" - haha)

Yeah, I wouldn’t call my wife a fan, but she likes PT/SW well enough and likes to go to concerts in general. |

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread as I REALLY want to go.
My business travel has just picked back up though, which I why I didn't purchase tickets and plan a trip already. |

Not sure who this band is. But if Vybz Kartel ever gets out of prison, and you have extra tix... I’ll buy them in an instant. Good luck with this.

If you don’t move the Denver tix by May shoot me a DM. Porcupine Tree is tied with Opeth as pretty much my favorite bands ever.

I’ll follow up then, though it sounds like HC_Chief is considering it. If he passes, I’ll make you the same offer of buying a couple rounds of beer! |
