Turley's OUT... and OVERRATED!
Shit, people. It's not like we're having Black step in for Willie Roaf anymore.
Turley was simply not that impressive in week one OR in week two. He required the same amount of FB/TE help that Black did and the line, as a whole, was much more vunerable. I'm not saying that Turley isn't better than Black (because I just don't know), but we're NOT missing a whole lot. If it was I-65 as we known him out there, I'd agree and probably concede a loss. But you're as good as your last game, and he -- with help -- was effective. Don't worry that we'll leave Black on an island to face Berry and Okeafor. We won't. We'll have a tidy gameplan to protect him AND to protect Huard. |

He's not that bad. I think if his back is a problem, we could just make him a non-starter, or rotate our tackles more often.
Even if he does suck, cutting him is unwise. What we do get out of him is some smart veteran leadership at that position. And I'm not talking about the kind of smart veteran leadership that Hicks possesses... I mean the good kind |

He might get pushed back here and there by bigger backs but I havent seen him comepletley give something up, or get a holding/false start call on cruicial drives like mr black

No one said he is that bad or to cut him.
But he's not that great that I worry about him being out. I'd worry only if Turley was great or Black sucked pole. Based on Turley's last outing and Black's last outing, neither was the case. |

I think rotating him might help but I do remember Turley has not played in 2 years and black has tried to.

I miss Roaf. He says his skills have declined, but he's still better than 95% of the T's in this league.

Well i am certainly am not surprised Turley is out.
I thought 2 years ago his career was over with his back problem. The chiefs should have pursued a healthier choice for that positon in the off season. Lets face it they took a chance on him. I really don't think he will be play 8 of the games for us let alone 16. With Black in it could cost us a game, maybe two. I know he did ok last weekend but how many has he left us upset and dissapointed? |

The thing I'm concerned about is having both Turley and Svitek injured. That means, if Black gets hurt or is sucking it up, the only option as a backup is Chris Bober, who might be serviceable at guard, but would be a huge vulnerability at tackle.
