Find us a beach
The wife is jones'n to get away to anywhere with a beach. She's the one getting the bonus...and I sure as hell don't have to be talked into it. Let's here in Planeteers...where should we go?
Price is a consideration...I (or in this case, she) can't afford $3-$4k. Anybody have any recommendations that would be reasonably priced? All-inclusive is a must...our bar bill alone would double the price of the trip. |

My wife and I enjoyed the hell out of Aculpoco Bay.
Plenty to do, but we mostly just lounged. There's an older crowd there so if you're looking for a beach for the youthful scenery, do Cancun. |

Myrtle Beach is nice and secluded. Plus very cheap to stay there. Lots of nice friendly folks too. If it gets crowded, Sunset Beach is close.
The Oregon coastline is incredible-not good for swimming, but breathtaking. Orchard Beach Maine-would be a trip to enjoy too. Lobster, beer, and miles of coast to yourselves. A little foggy and chilly there, so bring a blanket. |

Cabo San Lucas is the new Cancoon but by now it would be hard to find a room unless you go after April.

I've heard from my wife's family that Costa Rica is amazing.
We go to Rocky Point Mexico (3.5 hr drive) regularly. $35/night for a cheap hotel or $200/night for a very nice condo. I've always really LOVED the beaches of Carlsbad, CA (30 min north of San Diego). |

A bit up the coast you can go to Sarasota and find some of the best white-sand beaches in the world. If I won the lottery, I'd own property on Sanibel/Captiva, that's for damn sure. But I would also own property in Ft Lauderdale and Sarasota... for when I wanted to soak up the sun and swim in the ocean

I've also heard that the "redneck riviera" is pretty wonderful despite the nickname.

Puerto Rico... my home.
This is the beach I grew up on. This is in a town called Aguadilla, but there is very little happening there for tourist attraction kind of thing. San Juan is a major harbor for the cruise ships and there is always plenty to do there. |
