King Carl in Rare Form
I forgot to mention, right after the game was over, King Carl was down on the bench whooping it up. He looked like Jimmy Stewart at the end of "It's a Wonderful Life." He actually yelled at the crowd "You are the best fans in the NFL." I sh*t you not. I had to laugh.
After the game he probably went to the cash counting room, stripped down, and rolled around in the big pile of money. I also think Carl stole Lundberg's wallet. Hey, we got Free Agents to pay for next year! Last edited by gblowfish; 11-24-2006 at 10:05 AM.. |

Aside from the whole not winning in the playoffs thing, I'm a fan of Carl Peterson. He's a badass. My final verdict on Edwards is still pending, but he was obviously Carl's guy. Herm was under contract to the Jets, yet within a 2 month period, he convinced the Jets that they didn't want him any more and got him for virtually nothing. Carl has brass balls and the ego to go with it -- you have to in that job. It's okay by me if he lets his stone-cold heart melt every once in a while to enjoy a victory.

I completly agree with everything you said...I've always felt that w/out CP the Chiefs would be half the team they have been during his tenure...

Did he specify if he was talking to "real" or "fake" fans?

I like Carl to an extent. I still have a feeling in me somewhere, though, that makes me feel as if he would rather sell out a game than do what is right to win.
That feeling is beginning to go away, however. He has grown on me a bit. |
