Chief Prospects
Another DII prospect is drawing a lot of notice. of Wheaton College was highly rated coming into the year but a foot injury five games into the season ended his campaign.
Studebaker is an explosive athlete who made a living in opponents backfield during his college career. He is justifiably one of the best small school prospects no one is paying attention to. Doctors have given him medical clearance to run but Studebaker is not likely to perform a full workout in front of scouts until April. That has not stopped teams from beginning the interview process with Studebaker. The Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens are all scheduled to bring Studebaker in or individually work him out. Last week during the Northwestern's pro-day Studebaker completed 23 reps on the bench after measuring in at 6-feet-3-inches and 250 pounds. Last edited by T-post Tom; 03-15-2008 at 02:40 PM.. |

Cal Pro-Day results.
Though it was a large crowd at Cal’s pro-day it was absent of any big name coaches or general managers. Chiefs coach Herm Edwards was one of the few in Berkeley to take in the workout. Two pass catchers came away as big winners. Unheralded Robert Jordan, possibly the teams most complete and underrated receiver, shocked everyone running his forty’s in the low 4.4 second area. Jordan looked the most fluid and natural of any receiver at the workout and moved into the late rounds. Tight end Craig Stevens capitalized on a terrific combine workout with a good pro-day. Stevens did not run the forty but improved his vertical jump six inches, touching the tape at 33 inches. His pass catching session was sensational, according to people on hand. There is a feeling Stevens may have moved into the late part of round two. The St. Louis Rams brought their tight end coach in to specifically workout Stevens. The Tampa Bay Bucs and Cleveland Browns also showed great interest in the tight end and are likely to set up interviews and/or workouts with Stevens in the very near future. Lavel Hawkins ran a little faster today, clocking in the upper 4.4’s, (4.48). He also caught the ball well. First rounder DeSean Jackson fielded punts and caught the ball. Future Hall of Fame wide out Jerry Rice, who has been coaching Jackson, was on hand to cheer the junior on. Running back Justin Forsett ran poorly, clocking times in the high 4.6’s area on both runnings. Forsett evidently slipped at the start on both his fortys.

Auburn
Quentin Groves, who had been sick last week with flu like symptoms, weighed in at 249 pounds, ten less than his combine weight. Scouts on hand worked Groves at defensive line and linebacker drills for 25 minutes, something he did not do in Indianapolis. Sources told us Groves looked terrific at both, though he was really winded at the end of the workout after being so sick last week. Groves did improve his vertical jump, touching the tape today at 35 inches, six inches more than his combine jump. Safety Eric Brock was impressive, running his forty’s in the mid 4.5 second range, much faster than expected. Brock turned in a 37-inch vertical jump after completing 14 reps on the bench. The New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings have all scheduled private workouts with Brock. The Chiefs will also be meeting with defensive tackle Pat Sims who looked good in positional workouts. Cornerback Pat Lee again ran impressively. After posting forty times in the mid 4.4 second area at the combine, Lee was in the low 4.4’s today. Jonathan Wilhite, the Tigers other starting corner, ran a 4.2 second short shuttle and turned in a 35.5-inch vertical jump.

Great job Tom, I hope you continue to keep this thread updated.
Looks like the Chiefs are really targeting Stevens for blocking TE. |

IMO CP has put too much emphasis on workouts. There are plenty of examples of athletic wonders falling short in the skills departments. I would use workouts as perhaps something to break a deadlock of who to choose. Give me gamefilm any day.

I don't understand why fans don't understand that this whole team sucks ass, and every position but one or two needs to be upgraded.
