The QBs I like...
Here are things as they currently stand in my head.
I'm going to be realistic here, and assume that Bradford, Sanchez, and Freeman do not declare. They don't count here, then. 1st round Matt Stafford, Georgia -- Stafford is a lot of things, but he's got an NFL-sized body and durability. All the tools, currently he's #1 on my list. 2nd round Colt McCoy, Texas -- I think McCoy is late 1st quality, and if he falls to us there are certainly worse options. 3rd round Tim Tebow, Florida -- I know it's kosher to hate Tebow, but the 3rd is probably the soonest I'd consider taking him. Rhett Bomar, Sam Houston State -- Guy tore it up for a while at OU, and has since been shredding lesser talent at SHS. If he hadn't been booted off the squad at OU he'd be a name in this Draft. 4th round Chase Daniel, Missouri -- To me, Daniel looks like the Colt Brennan of 2009. He's a project, and a really unorthodox pick. But he's got golden intangibles, and I think he has what it takes. Nathan Brown, Central Arkansas -- 72% completion rate. 14 TDs, 0 INTs. 9.2 avg. 5th round Max Hall, BYU -- How are people not talking about Hall? He only leads the most dynamic offense in the country. Like most QBs from weaker divisions, he's a project, but this guy is hell on wheels with that BYU offense. Curtis Painter, Purdue -- Painter's alright, but he deserves none of the hype he's bringing in. Strong guy who runs a pro style offense, that's about it. 6th round Tom Brandstater, Fresno State -- This guy has a lot of promise, but he is incredibly inconsistent. I want to see more from Brandstater. Cullen Harper, Clemson -- If we draft Harper, it better be as a backup. I have seen nothing from him that suggests he has a future as an NFL starter. 7th round Graham Harrell, Texas Tech -- I just love his production, but nothing about his diminuitive size nor the kooky offense he plays in. |

Yeah, but oddly enough I think I'd prefer Michael Johnson at #1. I might even prefer Michael Oher.

Um you have some of those guys listed way to low....Cullen Harper is probably at worst a high 3rd round pick.

I'm going to need more tape of all of these guys, regardless. Most of the smaller school guys I've only seen play a half or so. Last edited by Direckshun; 10-14-2008 at 08:16 PM.. |

Yeah, excuse me, but you wouldn't know a good QB if he hit on the back of the head with a 50 yard pass as you were trying to run away after telling him he sucks.

I like Colt McCoy more and more. He has good not great arm, but is very accurate throws into small windows and has average receivers who he is making look good. He has nice footwork and can scramble something he will have to do for aleast 2 years with the chiefs.
little background http ://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news;_ylt=Ajqry_H.vmEPpdFM_CEKXc4cvrYF?slug=jn-mccoy101708&prov=yhoo&type=lgns link is broken up so I could post you will have to fix it |

What I like about McCoy more & more is his accuracy. That's should be the #1 thing to look for in finding a QB.
And as a plus he's athletic also. I'm just getting to a point to where I don't see much of a fault. ... I guess he could stand to gain a few lbs at 6'3 210. |
