Best Rock Bands of This Decade

Who do you all think are the top rock bands of the 2000's?? I would prefer if we listed bands that became popular in the year 2000 or later.

For me, it's the White Stripes, I love their music and they are amazing if you ask me especially since it's just 2 people.

So I ask you, what is your top band this decade? Feel free to post a video of your favorite song from them. It certainly doesnt have to be mainstream.

But I'll poll a few bands of this decade

I'm mostly asking because I'm searching for good music from this decade as this seems to be the worst decade for it.

It's all perspective...

If you're only listening to what regular rock radio tells you that you want to hear then yeah....it's bad.

But Queens of the Stone Age, White Stripes, Mastodon, The Bronx, Death From Above 1979, Eagles of Death Metal, Mars Volta, Priestess, The Sword, Yeah Yeah yeahs, Andrew WK, Turbonegro.

Not to mention very good albums by "older artists." Foo Fighters, Tomahawk, Melvins, Slayer, Dillinger Escape Plan.

All at least have 1 or 2 albums worth listening to and becoming the soundtrack to your newly discovered sex life.

anyways, I haven't heard of any of them beside White Stripes and Queens of the Stone Age. I am not into death metal at all, but I would like to open my horizons for some new music that I might like.

QOTSA and EODM are two of my very favorite bands. However, much like Radiohead, I think Josh Homme's earlier stuff is marginally better than the most recent stuff.

And I think I've mentioned it here before, but I actually prefer the OTHER half of At the Drive-In - Sparta - over The Mars Volta.

Props on the Priestless drop. Nowhere near best of the decade, but props none the less.

What a terrible poll. No System of a Down, Korn, Slipknot, Queens of the Stone Age, Destrophy, Foo Fighters, Godsmack, yet you include fucking Nickelback? Seriously?

Um, all of those "bands" were signed in the 90's.

Good point as I didn't see that caveat in the OP. However, System didn't really gain popularity until 99-00, IIRC.

oh, I remember foo fighters in the 90's and they aren't exactly what I consider to be "rock" anyways, like I said I'm stuck in the 90's and need some advice on how to rock this decade

Most of these "nu-metal" bands they're listing are 90's bands in my opinion. But then again, I'm not a big fan of Tool, Korn, Limp Biskit, Disturbed, or any of the rest of them. They all sound the same.

You're almost too late. Maybe you should just hold off for a while and pick back up in the 2010s.

Korn, Foo Fighters, and Godsmack don't at all belong in this decade. Their best stuff was all done in the 90's (and I hesitate to include Korn, because the team "best" has to be used so loosely. They didn't technically have any GOOD stuff.)

Signed is one thing. At least SOAD and QOTSA have put out good music this decade.
