Fire alarm in my house just went off

Got up, spent 20 minutes searching the house for smoke/fire - never found any. Very faint smell of smoke or something.

Now, can't sleep thinking I've missed something somewhere and the whole house is going to burn down.

No. I can't really even say it's a fire/smoke smell. It could be just me looking for something and thinking I smell it. Very very very faint.

Could be something electrical in the walls/attic. Phil's right - perhaps you should play it safe and call the FD.

Safe thing - call FD. They're just playing cards anyway. Explain the situation to Dispatch and they'll send one engine first.

Thought about doing that. Just decided that I'll sit up here and see if anything else happens. Moved my oldest out of the basement to the upstairs couch just in case.

Checked the furnance & water heater. Checked all the outlets. Just can't find anything substantial enough to prove it wasn't just a fluke.

And a ladder company to stage. But knowing dispatchers...they'll put it as a full blown Residential structure fire. Just to be on the "safe." side.

Exactly what I was thinking. Smed seems to take posts that he is going to make in 4-5 different threads and then combines them into 1 post in a thread he wasn't going to respond in.

I don't think I said any of that, Smed. Please stop putting words in my mouth.

I don't know which is more disturbing. Smeds incoherent posts, or the fact that you were able to figure out what the hell he was rambling on about. I think I speak for most of us, when I invite you to be the "official" Smed to english translator from this point forward.
