G.M.

Everyone is always talking s*** to each other, so then be the new G.M.. How would you fix this team starting today, everything goes (Trades, F.A. Draft). Also the depth chart, who starts and who sits. One more thing with our talent, our we a run team or a pass team. On D our we a 3-4 or 4-3 team. I'm bored so I thought this would be entertaining to hear. Who is gonna get fired first.

To provide an incentive to score touchdowns, I would have the hottest cheerleader ride out on warpaint topless after every touchdown.

I don't know how to fix it other than draft better and bring in better coaches.(Not talkn about Haley...Yet)
We were going to have a terrible year in my opinion no matter who we had and what we did.I'm not ready to hit the panic button yet.

This has literally been discussed ad infinitum by dozens of people on this site.

The last offseason was the most important since 2001 for the Chiefs. They were tipping point offseasons. The decisions made last season changed the future of this franchise so much that you can't really properly construct a team in your own way unless you go back to last offseason.

I think are biggest problems may be with the talent. What our are biggest strengths right now? No one really knows. Our are linebackers ok? Do we need to draft an olb early? It's apparent that are o-line needs an upgrade but what about are receiving corps? Arrrrrr

Right now there is nothing you can do to improve this team. If I was the GM and hired when Egoli was then here is what I would have done:

Hired Jim Schwartz. Why? - The team's biggest investment at the time was Glenn Dorsey, a 4-3 DT. Titans D was one of the best in the league and they had a knack at developing DL. Not to mention Schawartz is one of the best football minds in the game.

Free Agency
Jim Leonhard, SS - Starter for the D, main reason is I love his special teams play
Michael Boley, LB - Starter at OLB for us, him and DJ would form a solid OLB core
Jeff Garcia, QB - Starter/keep the seat warm for our rookie QB
Mike Karney, FB - Starter at FB, bye bye Mr. Cox
Daniel Loper, G/T - Starter/keep the seat warm until I can replace him

Draft
1. Mark Sanchez, QB - The Franchise QB
2. Rey Maualuga, LB - Starter/new leader for the young defense
3. Antonie Caldwell, C - Starter/potential to be our center for the next 10 years
4. Lawrence Sidbury, DE - Our pass rusher
5. Duke Robinson, G - Steal in the 5 see Caldwell's write up
6. James Davis, RB - solid backup to LJ
7. Mike Mikens, CB - depth at corner
7. Ryan Succopp, K - Our kicker for the next few seasons

Depth Chart
WR Mark Bradley
LT Branden Albert
LG Brian Waters
C Antonie Caldwell
RG Duke Robinson
RT Daniel Loper/Barry Richardson
TE Brad Cottam
WR Dwayne Bowe
QB Mark Sanchez/Jeff Garcia
RB Larry Johnson
FB Mike Karney

DE Tamba Hali
DT Glenn Dorsey
DT Tank Tyler
DE Lawrence Sidbury
LB Michael Boley
LB Rey Maualuga
LB Derrick Johnson
CB Brandon Flowers
CB Brandon Carr
SS Jim Leonhard
FS Jarrad Page

Bottom Line
I wouldn't expect a much better record than what we have currently. I would expect to see improvement in all three phases and smart, discplined football. Also I doubt Sanchez would be starting until the Jaguars game either. Thats why I would have brought in Garcia. Take the lumps during the brutal start and let the young OL gel. Defense I think would be improved. Maualuga would bring nastiness to our defense and a leader. Leonhard would help our ST's. Overall I wouldn't expect much in terms of win/losses but I want this team clicking in December where I expect bc they are young still lose, but knowing that 2010 season we will be a team to be heard from or at least be a pain in the ass to everybody we play.

Next year, go with a Defensive philosophy which imploys all-out pressure every play. They give up yards and points by the truckload anyway, we might as well go down blitzing our asses off.

I am tired of this patty-cake react bullshit.
