How many NFL Games have you left early?

I've only left 2 games ever early.

2008 - Chargers vs. Raiders - Thursday Night Football

The Chargers were 4-8 headed into the game, and I was pretty much under the impression that the season was over. The Broncos were 7-5 at this point, so I didn't see how this was a meaningful game. It was on a Thursday so I had to work beforehand, and I couldn't get there 4 hours before kickoff. We got there probably an hour and a half before kickoff and got drunk in the parking lot. We didn't make it into the game until the end of the first quarter and at this point the Chargers were already beating the shit out of the Raiders. I was bored out of my mind and so was everyone else I was with, so we left at halftime.

2007 - Chargers vs. Chiefs

You guys should remember this one. Dwayne Bowe ate the Chargers up all day, and the Chiefs returned a Fumble for a TD. When we were down by 14 with 6 or 7 minutes to go, I was disgusted and left. I missed the "Marty, Marty, Marty!" Chant though, thats my only regret.

Never.

I've been to four games at Ravens Stadium, one at Fed-Ex, one at Cincy and two at Arrowhead and stayed until 00:00 in every one of them.

I've been to at least 50 NFL games, not including preseason, and had never left one til 2007. Pretty good record.

I left a preseason game at halftime when I had my daughter with me. That's all I can recall.

Once. I used to be a big 49ers fan. I went to see the Chiefs and 9ers at Arrowhead. The Chiefs destroyed them. I left late in the 4th quarter to beat the traffic.

I've only been to a handful of Patriots games in the past 10 years, since the tickets are expensive and hard to get. When I've gone, I've taken the train, and the train leaves promptly 30 minutes after the game... and, if you're in the upper deck at Gillette (which is usually where I am), it probably takes a good 30 minutes to negotiate all the winding ramps and stairs and walk to the train, and that's if you do it with no one around. If you try it with the entire exiting crowd, you're screwed. And, luckly, most of the games I've been to have been decided well before the final minutes, so I've left with around 7 or 8 minutes to go and listened to the game on my Walkman as I headed to the train.

I did see them in South Florida, a few years back, and Miami pasted the shit out of them, but we stayed until the end anyway. I also saw them in Buffalo back in '97 and '98 when I lived in Syracuse and, again, we stayed until the end.

Thats another reason I left during the Chiefs game is because I took the train to the game that time.

My buddy and I went to the Chargers/Chiefs game a few years back. It was the game after Lamar Hunt had died, and they moved it to a Sunday night game. We were in the top row of the upper deck on the opposite side of the stadium from the train station. We must have waited a full hour and a half to get on that train. That was insane.

Yeah, they say that 15,000 - 25,000 people use the train every game. Unless you leave early, you are waiting a couple hours.

Taking the train is a great plan. In theory.

But after it's over, and you're wearing a Chiefs jersey while being packed into a train that would make Asians claustrophobic, surrounded by drunk Chargers fans looking to make an example out of someone after having waited 90 minutes in line listening to the "Super Chargers" theme song on repeat? Not so much.
