Chiefs Calling all consultants

I got to thinking about Chan Gailey and can't help but wonder what he's thinking and doing. Is he a part of the organization at all anymore?
If I was Haley or Pioli, I'd call every former NFL assistant I ever met, or had any knowledge of, and ask them to watch some game tape. Pay them a nominal consultant fee and see what they come up with. Guys like Bill Laveroni, former Seahawks O-Line coach who's currently coaching the o-line for the Florida Tuskers.

I'm not saying we hire them as a coordinator, just suggesting that they might offer something we can use. It might lead to a coaching gig for them again, but I'd take a consultant approach to see what they come up with.

That would be a logical thing to do.

Or hire a ****ing quarterbacks coach.

But for whatever reason, Haley doesn't seem to think he needs it and Pioli hasn't gotten the hint that Haley needs it. I don't get it.

I know guy's like Jim Fassel do "consulting" for teams and he gets over a million a year from his gigs. Consultants cost a lot and many times they are looking for a full time job replacing the guy they are consulting. (See Dick Vermeil "consulting" Gun for two games.)
Usually the coaches resent the outsider and don't take the input.

More cooks in the kitchen won't change that. There isn't an offensive nugget of wisdom that can make up for defensive lineman balancing their checkbooks in your backfield.

Well they should use Gailey for something. They are paying his ass. Unfortunately the on going dick measuring contest out at Arrowhead gets in the way of rational thought.

The Chiefs are paying Chan so he can't go anywhere else this year. Hell of a job if you can get it. Sit in an office get a check and have nothing to do.

I wonder what the final straw was with Gailey.

We are hurting ourselves on gameday by not having a QBC.
